FS: 1984 4Runner SR5 4WD Black - $3900 ATL, GA
SOLD
Power door locks, nope. Power windows, nope. Airbags, nada. Navigation, nope. Push-button start...? not even. Non-smoker is the only pre-generated phrase that applies, ha! Just a fun rough and tumble 4WD truck with the venerable Toyota 22R. Solid axles front and rear for articulating over obstacles.
- @352K it got a MarlinCrawler transmission and short shift kit, and synthetic gear oil all around the drivetrain.
- Back in 2013 did Toyo AT tires (have only 13k on them), front and rear add-a-leaf kits to fix the sagging, and Bilstein HD gas shocks.
- Has upgraded Pioneer speakers all around ,and a Pioneer CD deck with HD Radio, Bluetooth Music, and hands-free phone.
- Full maintenance spreadsheet in GoogleDocs, father has owned since new. He drove it as his commuter for many years, I took over when he ran out of driveway space. And now, I'm running out of driveway space.
- AC works and blows cold.
- Inclinometer and all gauges work.
- When we did the Transmission two years ago, the inside of the transfer case is spotless, see attached photo of bearings.
- engine runs good and smooth. I was daily commuting it up through now. Sold my sports car. Got a Subaru wagon. Now selling my truck.
- The bad: The front fender got dinged and replaced, so the pin stripe doesn't match.
- Couple small rust paint bubbles in rear fenders, see photos.
- The rear glass must have gotten sand in at some point in the past and scratched, it works good though, power button from cockpit.
- The steering is pretty loose. The 30mm play factory spec is pretty loose itself... So may not be all that bad. I still suspect steering gearbox, but hard to find ready rebuilt ones. Its probably prime for someone to lift her and convert to ifs crossover steering.
