Elvis & Upper Woodpecker AZ Yotatech Run 2/23/08

Az Yotatech ran Elvis and Upper Woodpeck yesterday. 2 1st gen 4runner, a lone jeep wrangler, SA Toyota Tacoma, 03 Double Cab Tacoma and 4 3rd gen 4runner. The black 1st gen broke his front axle (correct me if I'm wrong)and had to winched out of it's location but ran the rest of trail prerunner style . Other stuck of the day was a double cab Tacoma got hung up on a cross member.

Here are some of the high lights:

Upper Woodpecker:

Good sized group.

So, Brian snapped an axle? That's no good. Where at? Looks from your pics like he had an issue in the J-Turn maybe?

Kent... you get your Tacoma through that J-Turn?

Why no buggy? How you guys supposed to have a BBQ with no propane?

Yes, one the stock axle shafts (drivers) finally let go on the J-Turn on Elvis. I had my concerns that it might, but with the Longfields on the way, I let it fly. Schaefer winched me out from the back and I ran the rest of Elvis in 2WD low. Another benefit of the crawler. Schaefer had the kids so no buggy.

I guess you earned your Longs then.

That J-Turn looked tight when Westfall snuck through. Points for trying. Next time I am sure it will be yours.

Great video. That's a lot of Tacoma to get through that little squeeze.

Nice job Kent.

Oh man! You should have seen it. He didn't so much make the turn, more like he just drove straight over the darn thing. But yes, nice job Kent.

Um, I don't if any were taken. I normally just run around taking photo's of others and taking random ones of mine when I can.

Ah man. I like seeing the stock 4runners on stuff like that.
I'm sure someone has some pics.

If someone does I hope they post them up. If not it's fine. I had a blast (that's all that matters)getting though the trail and watching the more built rigs do some crazy stuff.

Now we just need to get your 4runner out there.

Seriously. Parts are on the way, but so much work still needs to be done.

I know, the "retired" truck is sure seeing a lot of action these days.

Once in the 4Runner was enough for me. The Willys did it no problem the time before, but look how small it is.

I had a good time and I am proud of Teaaron for coming out with his pretty much stock truck even though he was a bit apprehensive at first. It was a good trip and I had a really good time.

Thats why I want to see some pics of T. He's a stud for bringing out the Yuma wagon and its always fun to see a stockish vehicle on crazy stuff. Heck, thats why I love the red truck!!

Keeping the 4 cylinders of fury out of action would be a shame. It has to flex it's muscles sometimes.
