I have used the evilbay dash covers and they are hard to beat....I have one in my 83 and 90 and they look and fit well.

There's several great write ups on YouTube not specific to Toyotas. Right now I still don't have dash cracks in my vehicles. I did some research while repainting other interior parts and the best way to get uniform texture is to use spray can bedliner and then follow up with the vinyl paint color of your choice.
