I've red this idea on other forums and theres alot tossed around about major powerloss through so many moving parts in the transfer cases. Not to mention that is really, really, really, really, really low. I've never hit rocks but I don't see to much more of a point than having anything lower than the stock 2.28.

I don't think you'll find triple cases to be practical or useable at all. Think of your granny first as a t-case low on it's own and now you've got the equivalent of four. I run a V8, SM420 (7.05 granny) and dual 2.28 Toyota cases for a 151:1 crawl ratio. There is only one circumstance where I've ever needed all three in low and that is to make wheel chocks while parking on the trail . Usually, the lowest I go is granny/high/low or 2nd/low/low.

As far as braking, even with a mere 151:1 crawl and 200ft-lbs torque (at idle) my rear wheels will not be denied their rotation. When I park on the trail, I put the drivetrain in 2wd low/low/low let it idle and stand on the brake as hard as I can. The front wheels lock up but the rears keep on turning digging two nice holes that keep my truck from rolling once I shut it down.

eh, it's definitely useful. I do pretty mild wheeling but I still get into plenty of situations where a lower ratio would be better......I'm thinking about putting in a Marlin single crawler - 4.7:1 or whatever it is....

its not useful if you see mud and mostly dirt roads...far too slow. However, if you see any rocks at all, even just a single 4.7 case can be a world of difference. duals make it gravy, giving you stock, 4.7, and entertainment low.

You need to do some more reading. This is a web wheeling idea.

Some times you need wheel speed. Your argument suggests there is some magical crawl ratio that would allow every trail to be conquerred.

Also, you are in BC. Good bud, short on rocks.

With a strong V-6, auto tranny, a stock case and a 4.7 case along with 5.29 gears in the diff I can tell you with absolute certainty that putting all my levers in low does NOTHING but entertain me at parties.

Rock crawlers need gearing, get a case or two, putting 4.7's in one case makes it like you have three cases except it is practical.

Have you thought about driveline length?

The best setup is duals with stock and 4.7s, i have just the 4.7s and it is awesome. Plus im on 4.10 gears, so when i get 5.29s ill be at around 100 to 1 which is fine for what i do.

And stay toyota... or lexus I was thinking about swapping in a 3.4 but for how much its gonna cost i think im just gonna get a tacoma

First, I'm not in BC, different side of the country completely.

Second it was simply an IDEA!!! I wanted to see if it was useful, it's not simple as that.
5.29s, dual cases and 4.7s in the rear case, done!

triple T-cases are good for only one thing, and that's to show off at parties. From personal experience with Marlins truck, he did it just to prove it could be done, on the trail, he never uses the low gearing.

I run dual t-cases and there have been times that I wish I had lower gearing, but in most cases everything is just fine.

Good choice to go with duals........
