TRD or Locker rear

Looking in to lock the rear of my taco. Ithought about the trd rear but i heard it was expensive. The locker from power trax is about 300. Is their a great deal to swap the rear axles on the taco. this i mean are the u joints the same and widthe the same on the spring pearch? i really need to know this info before i make a decision, and what kinda price am i lookn at for a trd rear axle setup??

I know there's an E-Locked Toyota 8 inch for $750 in Casper, WY...

Edit: It's from a 4runner so the perches would need to be welded on.

Are you talking about swaping the whole rear axle or just the third member?

it would probably be easier and more practical to just have an ARB put in. now, if you had a mini, you could do the mod to run the E-locker. however, the non-trd tacoma runs an "8.4" rear, which is really an 8" but it has a different third-to-axle mounting pattern and a caged bearing cap design that's much stronger than a typical 8" setup

I posted a special on TRD LSD in the Vendor section or you can E-mail your question to info@trdparts4u.com. We sell more than TRD. We also sell ARB, Lockrite and can usually get any other brand you are interested in. It really depends on what you are looking for.

the good thing about the TRD rear is that it's a selectable locker whereas the power trax is not...you could find a TRD axle for anywhere from $500 to $100+...the swap is straight forward....Taco TRD axles come with 4.10 gears so you might have to regear....
