I think I am going to attempt to relocate the air filter on the compressor. I think I am going to put it in the air vents. That way it will suck cool air and not hot header air.
Any thoughts on this???? Seemed logical to me....and I bet it prolongs the thermal switch interval. Plus I'd rather put cold air into my tires.

I'm sure you could use some tubing and connect where the air filter is supposed to go on the compressor and hook it up to the airbox. Maybe drill a hole in the airbox and JBweld some sort of brass nipple there?
I wonder though, would the draw from the compressor be strong enough to get enough air? I imagine the intake from your truck's engine may just overpower the compressor's draw...
I don't know but I did once see the ribbed air intake tube of a V8 4th gen half collapsed in on itself. That is a *mighty* strong draw.

Quick Questions about the MV-50...
1. Is the gauge supposed to read higher than actual psi after inflation? If I unscrew from the valve stem and rescrew it in then the pressure is correct. Does it have to do with pressure in the hose?
2. Right behind the part that screws into the valve stem, there is a black part that I can push in and it releases air...Is it supposed to do that?

1. My gauge DEFINITELY reads higher than actual. That's my only complaint so far. I was going to try to find a cure, but until then I over-inflate then adjust using a pocket guage.
2. Sounds like an in-line air bleeder. Didn't notice that, but if that's what it is, I think its a good feature (if I can get the pressure guage issue (1.) resolved.

So it's not just me. Maybe deathrunner had it right, and we should just remove everything ...j/k
Hopefully someone else can figure something out, or maybe nothing is wrong and that's exactly how it is supposed to work .

Well I exchanged it because the compressor was leaking and when I got my new one I realized the other was probably a previous return because it wasn't nicely packaged and wrapped. This new one works great, so yeah, it's all good .

The TTORA guys are discussing this now. There's an interesting link that they posted. Should make all of us that bought one feel pretty good about ourselves

Hey Bob,
I think Deathrunner experienced some problems with the auto shutoff from the heat of the engine bay where he hardwired his. You might want to PM him and confirm that first. I seem to remember - I don't know for sure.

Pete,
I plan to hardwire it (i.e. not using ciggy lighter), but I do not intend to mount it inside the engine bay.
What is the mechanism/trigger used to shut down the unit? Is there a small built in fuse in the cig lighter or something like that?

I haves used mine on 3 trips now. Sunday it pumped up 8 33" tires from 25 to 35 pounds in under 15 min. Never shut off. The things are great for the money.
