In Bed Roll Bar

Is it even worth having one of those Smittybilt type roll bars for protection purposes? I don't have the money to do an interior cage like I want but I would like to have something there, and I see them all over the place for dirt cheap or free. I won't bother if they won't help at all in the event I do lid my truck, but I'd like to uh...not die if it happened.

It would help protect you in a low speed rollover. Just make sure you find a roll bar not a show bar. The ones made out of thin wall tubing are just for looks and to hold lights.
