i want to lift up my 4Runner. i have a 1994 model and i have no idea where to start. ive seen 4" lifts from Fabtech and Procomp for about a $1000. is there anything cheaper or better for my money? any help appreciated.

If you go w/ a suspension lift, you'll end up spending about that much. I'd recomment SuperLift if you do go this route. It's very well built and stout - it's what I'll use (again) if I ever lift an IFS truck.

Other options are 2" bodilift and balljoint spacers...

a cheaper option is ball joint spacers in the front and landcruiser coils in the back (fj80 coils) it wont quite get you 4 inches, but it will provide more flex than one of those 4" lifts. just do some searches using fj80 coils, landcruiser coils, and balljoint spacers, there is lots and lots of info on this site.

i myself went with the bj spacers and fj80 coils. in order to fit 33's you will need at LEAST a 1" body lift. im looking at 1.5" body lift when i get 33's

Does Fabtech make a kit? Hmm... Anyways, I'm running the Superlift kit on mine. It is very well-built. One-piece crossmembers as opposed to the brackets the other kits give you. If you're planning on wheeling it hard and want lots of flex, don't waste money on an IFS lift. Ball joint spacers and FJ80 coils is a good setup that's cheap and easy. Simple things like swaybar disconnects make use of all IFS can give, so that's something to keep in mind. Good luck with it.

If you're going the "cheap" route, dont' forget to extend the rear brakeline and level out the porportioning valve...oh, and longer shocks.
