On a side note, I can get my little 120 hp (if I am lucky) 22r to do the same thing his is. Especially if I let the clutch out to fast. Don't ask me how I know that. lol. But the BMW with auto trans is real difficult to get it to do it unless I am in snow or ice or rather lose gravel. Probably because the BMW isn't a leaf sprung truck and has a rear sway bar. Not to mention shorter and designed to take corners fast unlike a truck.

Well i'm obviously not going to be able to get across to any of you just how easy it is to break this thing loose - general consensus seems to be that i'm an idiot with bald tires !
Don't know at which point my tires became bald by the way. They are expensive junk Goodyears, but they are not bald.
Guess I'll just figure this out myself !

I don't remember one other person on here complaining about spinning their Tundra tires around corners. Nor the few people who have done 1uz swaps in their 4runners. Not sure if the guy who has a supercharged 1uz in his truck has that problem or not. But pretty sure the supercharged 3.4 guys don't really have that issue either. That leads me to believe driver error. You yourself said your tires were no good.

I'm not saying you're wrong - This may be all about the tires! I've never had these Goodyear "silent armour" (or some BS) Forteras on any vehicle before, and they were a new introduction I believe at the time. Cost me $600 for the 4 of them, and the dealer thought they were the greatest. He talked me out of Michelins - I love that guy !!
I think i'll do some digging and see if other folks have had issues with them.

$600 for 4 31 R15's is really good. That's only $150 a piece. If your not including mounting balancing etc etc. I don't know what size are on those tundras but they should at least be 16" wheels which tend to be a little more then 15's. The tires on my BMW are only 15" wheels and cost me $400 installed out the door. They are cheaper Falkens.

Been reading reviews for these Forteras and most complaints are for sucky mileage. My experience mirrors what everyone says about how quickly they wear down. They get to a certain point though and then stop wearing. Maybe the rubber gets real hard and my issue is the result.
I don't put a great deal of weight behind consumer reviews, but vehicle aside, this review could have been written by me:
Expedition - 16" - Quiet yes. Wear horrible. The soft first 50% of tread comes off FAST. The last hard tread remains like iron (in a bad way) Can't even get warranty money for it because the warning tread indicator is so low. DONT BUY THESE TIRES!

Also interesting is that they are now discontinued, and after that huge promotion for Silent Armour too !

I have 6/32" left - maybe i'll hit the dealer up again !
I know Goodyear is going to balk before 3/32" though !

What are you running for tire pressures? Are you positive the techs put what you wanted in them?

I've tried between 32 and 40 psi. Does not seem to make a difference. Coincidentally, it was raining today. At one stop light, I applied about as much gas as i would if there was a foot of snow on the ground to get her rolling in a straight line today and she broke loose after about 10 feet. Backed off, slowly rolled it on again, and slipped again. Its like i'm on ice !

Should have stated before now that i have been in the automotive repair field for over 30 years, owning my own shop at one point. I know my way around an automobile. Though LSDs existed back then, they were an unnecessary option as my country's climate was so mild that we never saw one in the shop, and consequently I know very little about them. I never had a vehicle come in with the complaint i now have myself either. I will say that the tires we had back then were made of extremely high quality components. Until I came to the USA, i had never seen tire remnants laying all over the freeways. Mind you we never had anything remotely like a Michigan freeway, or Chicago's Ohare ring road either. Tire and shock retailers must be very rich folk in these locations.
I'm going to slip and slide these goodyears over to the dealer and push my situation with him again. This guy actually cringes at the thought of another battle with this manufacturer !
