Clownmeat's 1998 4Runner Build-Up Thread

So I bought my wife a 1997 4Runner to haul the kids around and found myself in love with the thing. Two months later I sold my Tundra and picked up a 1998 4Runner off craigslist for myself.

First pic I took was just after I put the TRD stickers on and took off the running boards.

Took it out a couple of times and after scraping the tow hitch on everything I realized it needed some work.

Called Toytec and ordered OME 891's, 883's, struts, 2" body lift, diff drop, and 1.5" hubcentric wheel spacers. Then I removed the hitch and spare tire and put the tire up top for now and put onboard air where the spare was and also removed both swaybars. Was just waiting on tires for a couple weeks.

Finally got tires, 285/75/16 Yokohama MT+, so this is how it sets now about a month after I got it. Next on the list is to build bumpers and sliders.

Also in the works is a turbocharger later this year. To begin with the 3.4 is guttless, bigger tires makes it worse and I really miss the power of the 4.7 I had in the Tundra. I've become pretty proficient at turboing stuff so this should be a breeze.

More turbo

Got to test fit the turbo today so I can see where the hangers need to go. Also istalled the scavenge pump and wired it, just need to run a feed and return line and I can bolt the turbo on for good.

So just out of curiosity. How does the remote turbo hold up to weather? Mud, dirt, dust, etc etc... will that damage it at all?

Going to build a skid plate for it but just keep the intake out of the water and it's fine.

That turbo set up is ba. Just out of curiousity why did you not puy it in the bay. I know it might be a tight fit but was the reason behind this. Sick 4runner bro.
