Yotas with Viair On Board Air...
Just got the medium duty Viair on board air system and Bud built skids I was reading up on Viair's website on info if its a sealed compressor or not. It didnt say if their units are sealed, but it said if the compressor is not sealed it should be inside the vechicle. I plan on mounting my system underneath, where the spare tire used to be, before I moved it on top. Anyone have any opinions on this? Maybe pictures of their on board air set ups?

Here's just a few hits I found using the Search feature:

As seen in the first link, I would mount it under the hood.
One, for security and two for protection from the elements.

There is some room in the engine compartment. I should upload some more up to date pictures of what I have. its pretty simple..
Yes, dont mount it under the truck.

the compressor mounted and insulated from the body, had some issues with shorting out.
my manifold i made for the auxiliary air, ARB silenoid and pressure switch.
passenger side view of three gallon tank.
view of tank from underneath
auxiliary air out the rear.
and it stowed away.
i found that using a piece of plywood cut and screwed to the body insulated from the shorting issue. i then proceeded to screw the compressor to the wood not touching the body. It works well and not to loud in the cab i only have to run it for seven min. to reach 100 psi its vary tolerable
