BTW, DaveKerwin, is that Cherokee front bumper? (Not trying to start any Jeep vs Toyota stuff; just curious. I have a DD '99 Cherokee).

Here's my daily driver:
I just rolled over to 100,000 miles on wednesday. The worst part is, I didn't get to see it happen. It was raining and there were tons of California drivers on the Colorado roads... Anyway, not even a 22re, its a 22r (that's the carbureted version).
89-4run, I have always loved your truck. I really want a rear bumper like yours. I'm waiting to be rear ended so I can get one and not pay

After that he should have a template to go by and I assume he would be willing to make/sell more of them.

i have a 1985 toyota pickup 4x2
its my daily driver, but i beat the carp out of it.. its my little toy too... soon it will be lifted with 4" spindles and aal/shackles with 31s under it.... it doesnt look like this pic anymore - i took out the 3" lowering blocks and cranked up the tbars, also put clear fornt lights and removed the lower valance and the plastic bumper sides

I guess only michigan has the beat up rusty toyotas. Everywhere else seems to have clean trucks. Mine is really really rusty, there is a hole at the passenger kick panel where water leaks in and wets down the computer, yeah, thats fun. I thought I finally plugged all the holes and sealed it up, buy my wiper relay got wet and the wipers went berzerk, haha. Still need to get to the bottom of that one.

Yeah Colorado is horrible. Its because they spray down that magchloride (used to be salt) which if you leave it on your truck eats it up. I just fixed the rust on my truck back in october and there are spots its already returning. :pat:

Colorado is bad? I've been here 12 years, and they used sand every year up until 2 years ago when they started using the magchloride. I haven't seen any ill effects from the stuff as of yet. From what I know and heard, no salt was used cuz CO thinks they are environmentally conscious
Where'd you hear they used salt Toys?

Its what I remember hearing a few years back on the news when they were switching. Also, in chemistry we did this lab to show how magchloride reduces the freezing point of water by 10 or so more degrees than NaCl (salt) which our teacher explained to us was the reason they switched.
If you want to see ill effects, I should load the pics of my truck right before I bought it, and one and a half years later when the rust had increased almost 3x as much. The older trucks are notorious for rust though. Something about them using some electrostatic sealer, but they didn't ground the truck bed properly so the sealer was no good. Also I heard the seams just weren't done right allowing moisture in.
