1st mod, less than a week old

Window tint - a must here in sunny Flori-duh. Front 2 windows are the legal limit - can't see in any of the back windows. Easy target if you go too dark up front.

Thumbs down Went to upgrade my air intake tubing last night but>>

Last night before having to be at work I stopped in at the Schucks auto parts store to price and maybe order a K & N FIPK. I got to the counter and told the kid I wanted to get a K & N fuel injection performance kit. He said "huh"? He got out his K & N book and I showed him what I wanted. Then he couldnt find the part number or price. He starts telling me there isnt one for a 91 so i said well then look up one for up to a 95. He looked at me like I was stupid. So there I saw it from across the counter and he's still looking. I reached over and pointed that that is the part and part number I want. So off to the pricing guide he goes and quotes me $306.00 :pat: Uh no! I have looked these up both online and in shops before and know that they are around $220.00. So I just told him I forgot my credit card and I would be back but hell no I am not going back. I swear those stores need to ditch the highschool kids and give people with brains the jobs. Blue

I thought they were all ASE Certified?

Blue-

You should just get an adapter and a universal K&N that will fit the adapter. I think ebay has them for $10 shipped. The K&N will be an additional $40 or so.

Just an idea.

That guy was on crack!

i already have a drop in K & N that I paid $50 for. I actually need to just get in gear and do the intake silencer removal mod. I would be saving around $200 if I do. Yeah I seriously HATE going to parts stores. Everythings over priced, the tards are well umm tards, the parts tend to be wrong and I just get pissed over stupid stuff. Ebay has proven itself the best parts store lately. Blue

I just didnt trust whatever mystery oil they put in it. Its less to worry about for me if I put in what I want in mine. Plus who knows if the dealer shop let ALL of the oil drain or if the oil filter was even changed. Things like that are why I do it my way. Blue

at first glance i thought that was the same unit as mine... I hate how Alpine makes them all so similar. Is that mp3? mine has the mp3 but only the 50Wx4 amp instead of the 60Wx4 V-drive that i wanted. (cda-9811)

What speakers are you pushing that through?

nice. Make sure you wire that like you would an amp. I've heard some horror stories of those V-drive alpine amps tearing some people's stereo wiring up. Don't connect it w/ the normal power wire in the harness.
