Thanks

All I ever use is fram. It's not the filter that makes too much difference. I know this now after an API expert visited our school this past week and he was saying oil quality and filter quality doesnt really change much from brand to brand. It all depends on as long as you change them at regular intervals. I've been told by several technicians that oil filters dont matter too much as long as you change them often as you do your oil just so it doesnt get clogged up with gunk or particles. So reguardless of everyone's "opinions" any type you use is fine as long as you change them.

I always ran the k&n with mobil 1 But now I switch to AMSOIL oil and AMSOIL super duty filter. AMSOIL series 2000 0w-30 oil & sdf 57 filter. I can get you one for 8 bucks plus s/h.

I used Toyota the first 30K miles. From there on I have been using FRAM. I just couldn't make it to the dealer to get the filter since my hours are different then their's.

I am currently using FRAM PH3614. Is there another filter out there that offers more filtering? Don't mean to steal your thread. I don't want to relocate my filter either.

fram filters are terrible, because they let the oil drain back into the engine after it stops. this allows the engine to run dry when starting for much longer than other filters. i use a WIX 1515 filter, which is larger than stock but works fine, and holds oil in it while the engine isn't running.

Dosnt matter

if you want to get technical after about 500 miles the oil filter has a bypass valve and and the filter clogs and bypasses it so any oil filter is crap in my opion

So you are saying that after 500 miles, with clean oil that the filter element gets plugged up and the bypass valve opens, making the filter into nothing more than an open tube for oil to flow through.. sorry dude but you are wrong on this one. So when your driving down a dusty road, 500 miles later your air filter plugs up and your engine shuts off?
