That is the receiver dryer. There are o-rings on each of those lines that are probably leaking. Is there dye in the system that you can see leaking out? To do it properly you need to use an A/C machine to evacuate the system, then you can remove the lines and replace the o-rings then vacuum and recharge.

Rob is right. However most A/C smart people that I know will tell you to replace the receiver/dryer anytime the system has lost refrigerant. They are considered consumable items similar to air/oil filters.
The receiver/Dryer is kind of a filter for the A/C system and generally traps moisture and contaminants. So since you're working on it anyway grab a new one.

yup yup... ^ what he said.... think of the accumulator/dryer like an oil filter.
techchoiceparts.com has awesome prices and good quality stuff. I was able to get a new compressor, dryer and complete set of O-rings for $207 delivered.
FWIW now, I would buy the machine from harbor freight and do it yourself, I chickened out when I did mine last year and had a shop do the evac/recharge part and it cost me as much as my own unit to do it myself!
