Any other sources for that document?
I will try to upload it again tonight and see if that solves the problem. I know my site got moved to a different server recently and maybe that caused the problem. I hope the new upload will cure it. I will post when I get it done.

Thanks for all the advise, everyone. Like I said, I didn't have much confidence in the guy at the dealer. I am going to make the switch and enjoy all the benifits of the synthetic oil.

Your service guy is an idiot. You are not really letting those goofs touch your truck are you?
No, Gadget, they weren't touching my truck. I was actually there checking out a 2000 Millenium Edition 4 Runner. I am toying with the idea of buying it for my wife. The owner of the dealer owes me a couple of favors, so this might be a great opportunity to pick one up. It only has 22,000 miles on it. That hoodscoop just sucks me right in.

(Hmmmm, am I buying it for my wife? Or is that just what I am telling her? We will just let her think that it is hers.)

Gadget - still can't seem to DL the MOB on your site and Im on cable....

So there are NO downsides to switching to synthetic later in my engine's life? (My 3vze has 229,000 on it and lately has started to leak like a sieve....)

I use Toyota filters. They're a good filter for the money.

I am still working on the MOB problem. I can't find my original copy and I have contacted the author for another one.

Purolator Pure One- $6 at Advanced Auto Parts. Many think this is a pretty good filter.

Joel where did you get the CRC stuff? I know we're supposed to use ATF in the power steering so I've never seen that stuff.

Victor...
I got it at Checker. You can probably find an equivalent at Pep Boys or AutoZone.

There are two time when you do not want to run synthetic oil. First is in a rotory engine. Never do that.

Second. when you have a leaky engine. Synthetics do not cause leaks like the myths people keep speaking about, but if you do have a leak now, more syntheitc will leak through the same pre-existing leak. You do not want to waist expensive synthetic oil like that.
