Timeline of my 97' 4runner

08-28-06 Purchase 97 4runner mint with 175K

all is well she is getting along with her sister the Lexus. no mods in mind just a great truck for the winter and camping....wait maybe a remote start and DVD player...check!

10-20-06 Girlfriend gets her first deer with out a rifle this year.

11-21-06

I am getting the truck back, with a new front, w-pump t-belt ect. The problem is now I have a bull bar with 4 Hella 500's to install and a yakima/thule rack in about 20 days.

Let the mods begin, as the Lexus is not stock I was intending to leave the 4runner alone. Yeah right, thanks for the info guys, I will update pics in about 2 days!!

Dale

Yeah Bob I wanted a TJM and just cut the bumper out of the repair, but my girlfriend would have thought it was her fault if it came home any different. So I am going to keep a lookout for a used one or a group buy. I think you have great taste in cars...

Wow, I have never seen a deer cause so much damage. That is pretty intense. How fast were you travelling?

Wow!
It's amazing what a 100lb. deer can do to a vehicle. And my wife wonders why I tossed the stock front bumper and fabbed up a deer bumper.

She should know, I've collected a couple of deer in the past with other rig's.

It was 55mph. It was the largest Deer I have seen in 5 years. Girlfriend was driving. I drove up to the truck and I was like "what else or how many did you hit?"

Tow truck driver was looking around for the other car, he was for sure the truck had hit a car.

Got a pic for me? I am throwing on a decent sized push/bumper gaurd. When I see a bonus I may grab a TJM.

I was reading in a 4x4 mag. about a guy who had a new Ford F-350. Smacked a deer and it did over $3300.00 worth of damage to the Ferd.

Body shop labor isn't cheap anymore.

Can I put one of those on a 98' Lexus ES300?
It's nice the deer around here don't liek our Runners...
But the lexus...
Every animal loves that thing...
I have hit god knows howmany birds, 3 squirls, and now one Deer...

The TJM is a great bumper...
But it just seems like a bit much sometimes...
But meh thats me...

Completely with you.....but the girlfriends insurance is paying for all of this....not out of my pocket, if it was I wouldnt be getting a stock bumper at all.
www.sonoransteel.com and
www.burtmanindustries.com

both have great deals on the TJM. Glad she no one was injured...except the deer.

Thanks she is just now starting to get that the deer would have been in her windshield of her Mazda 3.
