think this 83 is worth 5500

ok, I was at work today, and the guy that pumped the pour is a friend of mine(well really a friend of my dads but I know him pretty good), and he started telling me of his truck for sale, I went after work and looked at it but didnt hear it run or drive it cuz he was off pouring another slab. anyways this is what he has got. its a 83 pickup that has full doors and a custom set of half doors, the cab is painted camo and the bed is gone and a new bed is built out of tube steel, kinda like a flat bed, wiht the spare tire mount thing, the gas tank is up high away from rocks but protected from branches and then it has LONG leafs in the rear that go from end opf frame to almost the cab, I remember him telling me what they are from or who makes them but I dont quite remember, goes from end of frame almost to cab, then 4" blocks. and the front is lifted with shackles. it has new black steel wheels and brand new 37" MT baja claws. in the cab it has a full padded roll cage. under the hood is a 22r mated to a 5 speed from one of the turbos, then to a 4:1 case, think the name of the gears have "brown" in the name. 5.29 gears with a locker in the front and a spool in the rear. hysteer. new steering box, comes with spare birfields and axles. rosk sliders, and i think all pro front and rear off road bumpers.

I can almost be positive that it hasnt been driven hard much, cuz this guy got it only about 5 months ago from a navy guy who was in the process of building it and had to move to the east coast and needed money, and he finished it, I know he got the hysteer and not sure what else he had to do to finish it, I need to talk to him more. I cant remember the mileage cuz I was too busy drooling hearing about all he did to it.

only thing I am worried about is that spool in the rear. a detroit ez locker would go right in its place, right? he said hes driven it around town and stuff, and to get it home he had to drive it 40 miles unless he trailered it. with a spool in the rear something is gonna break for sure soon though right?

don't buy a truck that is that built if you don't know how to build it that way yourself.

then how are you gonna afford a 5500 trail truck?

You can buy a newer truck and built it just as capable for less than 5500.

not worth 5500 in my view. don't even think all that stuff would add up to that.

if i was to pay 5500 for a trail truck, that old, it would have to be locked front and rear, have 1 ton running gear, a crawl ratio over 100:1 and a bigger than stock engine. and that's just the beginning.
