Stupid Steering Wheel Shake

I had an alignment done along with a re-balance job and its been much better. It still does shake from time to time which is weird. I'm guessing I need some new steering rack bushings. Although, that can be a winter job, I need to get some other things taken care of first.

I've had the same problem. It shakes between about 60 and 75 mph, but not all the time. I have checked all steering components for looseness, had the wheels balanced, had an alignment done, and I replaced my steering rack bushings. It is better, but not gone. I had the wheels balanced before I knew about the haweka adapter, so I do not know if this was done properly. Will have that redone sometime soon.

installed the poly steering bushings this weekend, and it helped stabilize the steering even further, however, now my steering wheel is no longer straight when I'm going straight...

sorry, i didnt see if anybody else has posted this or not, but if you have your wheels rebalanced and the vibration still persists you may want to check your from tierods and ball joints. The way to test this is simple: jack up the truck from one of the lower A arms or struts, lock teh steering wheel, and try to wiggle the tire side to side. If it has significant play this meens your tierod could be bent. as for the balljoint the procedure is the same, but move the wheel up and down.
I have a bent tierod and a shot balljoint both on the same wheel and it causes vibrations in my truck at highway speeds.

Yes, I re-used the original washer, but my steering wheel still ended up about 1/8 turn to the right when the Runner was going straight. I had an alignment done after that.
