well....i went offroading yesterday unexpectedly....

i was driving out to toronto, and on the QEW, i always pass by the National 4x4 store...so since i wasnt in a rush, i pulled off the highway, and went in to check it out. they have some pretty good stuff in there....OME suspension...slider bars...winches....etc...

anyways, i asked the lady there if she knew of any trails in the area, she didnt but pointed me to a couple regular customers outside....so i talked to them...both jeep rubicon owners...talked to them for an hour about their rigs and what to do to mine...

anyways...the only place they knew close by was across from the ford plant in oakville. driving towards toronto, the spot is on the left hand side of the QEW. its just a big mountain of dirt...i've always seen dirtbikes on it, but never trucks. anyways, thats where we went. it was alright there. a lot of big holes with water in them, and the paths up to the top of the mound. going up was scary cause it was so steep, coming down was pretty scary too, going up and coming off the edge back down, i cant see anything below me. i drove through a couple of puddles, about 2 - 3 feet deep...and spun the tires to get all the dirt on my car...looks awesome with the dirt. that was it...just a quick romp and we had to go. it was funny to drive the rest of the way out to toronto to get all those looks from people cause of how dirty my car was.

that was my fun for the day...i feel like bringing my car to get detailed like that....but i think i'll just power wash it.

hey bill!

maybe ill leave mine dirty till this weekend so you can see a really dirty truck! i got back from the 17 sideroad run about 330 today and added a bit o mud to the old girl! cool run, lots of bumpy stuff, good ruts, mud holes (some nice and deep) and one tight manouvre around a fallen tree. one of our group stalled in one mud hole and i had to pull him through. the runner never lost a beat and everyone made it out and home safely. looking forward to seeing you this weekend.

Directions

- From the QEW, take the Walkers Line south bound exit (Walker's Line is between Guelph Line & Appleby Line)
- Turn Left on to Harvester Road (You will see a Gas Station and Mazda Dealership on east corners)
- Turn Left on Fraser Dr. (First street past Burlington Bowl)
- Follow Fraser Dr. North and around the corner east
- The second driveway on the right, look for the big 4WD sign and you are there!

check out their site too...lets get a group buy on a 3" lift kit??...hehehee

I would seriously consider the group buy on the lift. For sure.

I would be interested in getting in on the lift kit from national. I priced a 5" superlift from them with the rear leafs and I was quaoted 1900. I live a half hour n/w of oshawa. 93 ext cab truck that is in the middle of a frame off 3.4 swap.

hey guys! we have the location, now what time? the am works for me, not like opening time but around 1030? moveovr, ill bring my drill and tools and we can do the air box mod right there, so long as you have a 2nd gen. if you have a 96 or newer, then you have to do the deckplate mod and im not too sure on how to do that.
