if I had seen your post earlier (When I was thinking about buying my 4Runner, and I came here for some advice and help.).. I probably wouldnt have stayed and read any more, thus not learning or sharing any info. Yes, You have a valid opinion.. but the way you delivered that Opinion was rude and mean. I have no opinion regarding your truck or you for that matter. Also understand when I wrote that, Im sure many others started writing "knee-jerk" reaction without reading all the posts first --for that I apologize.

Fender Flares

Thanks again all. What would you all suggest for fender flares. OEM type, bushwacker, etc? Once these tires wear, I will be going to 33x12.50 TRXS MT's most likely, so I'm going to need some coverage to protect my flanks.
With my 2" body lift and 285s (33in) tires, fender flares would not survive long on the front without getting ripped off. The back might survive longer but I bet would eventually get ripped off too. I will either need more lift or some serious fender well trimming to ever get on fender flares again. I just put on some cheap mudlfaps in the back for the time being and will put some on front when I get some more lift.

nope, they just tell us how to spell. If you judge by your posts it appears that it was money well spent...

EDIT: Country Day is actually the most expensive school in the county...

I have had stock fender flares since I bought mine new back in '98. I have 285 BFG's and mine haven't ripped off. I just removed the mud guards on both the front and the rear. the big parts I left on.

I tried putting them back on and the rub was too much. It would have just ripped out the lower bolts and made a mess of my fender well, plus it sounded like my rig was all the time!

Nice rig AFRunner. Seems to me that you got a pretty good deal and you are going about it the right way, piece by piece. Theres a ton of info to help you out here, but it won't save you any cash.

I like your glovebox mod, I have the same one!

did this turn into a tennis thread while I wasn't watching? I'm watching the little yellow ball go back and forth. Tennis matches are very boring to me.

I saw some pics from a tennis match but they would be inappropriate to post here.
