There are some things worth mentioning to everyone if they plan to "de-chrome" their rig:

1) For the love please wear a good respirator when sanding chrome. Chrome has some serious "nasties" that would just love to tear up your lung tissue.

2) Hand scuff, wipe clean and use a good etching primer to promote adhesion.

3) Use a quality paint, not the $0.99 junk that will last a month.

4) If you want to end up with flat black in the end, be sure to use a flat clearcoat (or it will just end up glossy).

I can try to answer questions if anyone has them. I also carry some great products for just this sort of thing. Just hit me up from my website if you need anything.
with rustoleum, don't think you need primer
they have flat black clear coat? ill have to check that out.
good tips

so far so good but hasn't been long enough to know. also, you don't need clear for paint to hold.

next up will be painting my LC wheels

Good thing I just finished drywalling and insulating my garage. Browsing this site I get more and more "projects" to do this winter! Nice work!
