You just need the taco snorkel and it bolts up fine to the 4runner.
Its not that hard, just drill some holes and bolt it in. You need to make sure you have the taco air tube. You might have it and you might not, i dunno which years had it and which years didn't. I know the 97 came with it. An easy way to tell is just pull out your fender liner a bit and reach up in there. If you intake tube is around the middle of the wheel your good to go, if its way near the front you need the taco intake tube. You also need to put seal up your intake using some sort of sensor safe gasket maker. Easiest way to put on the tube from the snorkel to the intake is to halfway unbolt the fender and lean it to get your hand up there. Also take your antenna off before you drill, i killed mine when doing it. I am not sure if you can use the power antenna with a snorkel due to room.
It looks good to me. I got mine on ebay, but you can just google it and find the best price or call like toyota of dallas.

Also, I'm not much of a water goer just because it can fudge up cv's and other components but what would be your guy's motivation to get one if you aren't a water guy? What advantages does it have over stock?
Thanks, Kyle

My MPG has increased since the addition of my snorkel.
And I will be checking my MPG again Thursday when I fill up.
I am getting no wind noise at all or chatter from the snorkel at up to 70 MPH.
I generally have not need to go faster than that, and that was just testing to see if there was any noticeable noise coming from mine.

no weird noises but a little whistle at high speeds ( 80mph) no decrease in mpgs, and the + side to getting one is that you no longer crap yourself everytime you go through deep water...
i have my snorkel head reversed and i love the sound it makes at WOT
