shoot me... I need some help.
So, I just swapped my timing belt. Boy was that a PITA!!! The crankshaft pulley bolt would NOT come out. Not even with a 1/2" impact gun. I had to have a big bar of heat treated steel drilled(then I cut the thing in odd places) to bolt to the pulley and hold it still while I put all my strength into that bolt. So anyway, I got the thing apart, put the new belt on, cranked the motor by hand several times to make sure the timing marks stayed lined up. Everything looked good. Put it all back together and filled the radiator. Started it up and let it warm up, expecting it to suck in the coolant from the radiater, but it wouldn't. Now, I didn't bother swapping out my water pump because I didn't want to screw with something I knew wasn't broken. My 3VZE has always run really cool. What could be going wrong? My waterpump wouldn't just coincidentally die when I changed the timing belt woult it?

Did you let it warm up? The thremostat has to open first .Let it idle until it warms up keeping an eye on the temp. guage(dont let it get too hot).I also use a funnel in the radiator neck to raise the coolant level above the highest coolant passage/hose in the engine compartment.I hope you put in a fresh T-stat(factory) while you were in there.

You can get that crankshaft pulley bolt off by putting a socket on it with a cheater bar and putting the bar against the frame rail. Unplug your wire from the coil, and crank on the starter, The bolt will come right out. I didn't explain that very well, but you get the basic gist of it. I did it that way on my 22RE, anyway; and it worked great.
