Hey folks,

I've decided to get off my butt and extend my breather (I know, it's about time!). But having looked around I have a question.

Corey, I saw your write up but I can't help but wonder if there is a difference between the 91 and 00 part numbers? Anyone have any insight?

You have the exact same rear axle as Corey, a V6 8" with the exception of the control arm brackets being differnet.

Yes his parts are the same.

That Toyota nipple is not even for that application but it happens to fit. Your transfer case, transmisson and front diff already have extended breathers from the factory.

Gene, I bought a whole roll too of that tubing I used.
You are more than welcome to use it.
All you would need is the fittings, and a little Toy filter like some use, or go for the bigger filter like I used.

Thanks Corey - thats a mighty kind offer. I'm tempted to take you up on it just to meet you!

You know - I have been talking with some Taco guys and they use the stock fitting and just use the "union" and hose to extend the breather. Just being frugal? I guess it may just be a matter of tastes. Any particular reason you like the larger filter?

Ther reason I did not use Part # is 90930-03136 as the filter for the top of the hose was I read a few articles on the 'Net, and choose to go with my Fram G3 filter.
Beleive me, it is the only Fram filter on my rig too



I am not sure if there is an advantage to using the bigger filter or not.
I know Lee uses the small one on his 2nd gen, and has a trick install with his being inside the gas door when you open it.
I don't see a pic on his site of it though.

I guess it just boils down to what you want to use.
Who knows, I may get the mod bug to mod my mod, and change over to the one on Steve's page by Lar's.
