Rear brake shoes

How long does the rear brake shoes last? What is the best brand for replacing the rear brakes with? Where can I get them?

The consensus seems to be that they last a long time. I would guess 60K miles or more. It is also depends on if you keep them adjusted. If you use your parking brake regularly they self adjust.

I am a big fan of OEM Toyota parts. I buy my big ticket stuff from Conicelli

Sorry I could not be more help on the milage. My son has 90K on a 96 and I have 30K on a 2000. Neither has had the rear brakes relined. I suspect my son's are not adjusted and therefore they don't wear.

It depends on how you drive. I have 128000 miles on my 93 4x4 truck and the rears still have 90% on them. I just replaced the fronts at 115000.
