How much did the whole swap cost you? I'm planning on eventually doing that to my 3rd gen Pickup when the 3.slow goes (190,000 miles already)

The major costs associated with my particular swap were the motor and the supercharger. I paid $1200 for the motor and $1200 for the S/C. Both were purchased from EBay. I only paid $250 for the 88 4Runner as it had thrown a rod and the P/O wanted to junk it.
Add in the headers, exhaust, belts, hoses, etc and I probably spentaround $3600 or so on it. But I wanted it to be my daily driver and couldn't afford to cut any corners.
So far I've got around 18000 miles on it and it still runs like a champ. I can't keep my foot out of it though :

i bet if you took the k&n filtercharger off of the engine, youd get a faster 1/4 mile time, i had that pile of crap and it actually made my engine have 7 less hp on the dyno. then we tried a k&n filter, that had 4 less hp than stock, then removed the element all together and had 3 less hp than stock. i really do think its better to make your own cold air induction system than to use the k&n plastic thingy. (but all my friends thought that it was cool to hear the wooooooshing sound when i stepped on the gas)

I would'nt have bought the K&N FIPK if the seller had included the intake plumbing and MAF for the correct year.. Instead, the seller gave me an intake setup from a 98 and the electronics (ECU and wiring, etc) from a 2001. The MAF's from 96-98 are quite different from the 99-02.
I would like to find the original MAF and plumging for a 2001 Taco and do the deckplate mod.

Where are you dumping your juice: are you putting it in before the throttle body (in the intake tract) or after (directly into the blower)?
Do you have an additional injector and/or controller circuitry to offset the nitrous blast?
Also, do you have a write up somewhere? I'm contemplating a 25-50 shot system on my 88 4Runner. I'm currently running a supercharged 2001 Taco motor with Downey headers, 2 1/2" high flow cat & Flowmaster muffler, K&N intake and a few other mods but, like everything else, it's never enough. (I can't get below 14.5 in the quarter yet!)

A guy ran in our car club with a basic SC'D Tacoma 4wd Xcab and ran mid 16s up here in Denver which is 5800ft asl. That was right on par (and even quicker) with Civic Sis,Celica GT-S,Hyundai Tibby Gts,etc.

Tib and Celica GTS...no (unless automatic or bad drving)
The only reason I comment is my last car was a Celica GTS...
low 14s.

ZO6s for example run just under mid 12s at sea level but up here they could only muster 13.5s-13.7s. My car ran 13.2 up here and at sea level it might of only gained about 7 tenths or so,that mean I was kicking a stock Z06 around up here but at sea level I would have been hard pressed to take one down. I was on par with Viper GTSs up here.
So,what did you have done to the GTS since most stock ones I had seen could only push high 14s at sea level and the best I saw up here was a 16.1 in bone stock trim?

My bad X-AWDriver,
I should have looked at your sig. In fact I think I have heard you talk about your old car on here before, and I should have made the connection.
I was around 2-3000 maybe...It was at Bristol...I can't remember the elevation. Fastest run I had was 14.2 with all the usuall bolt-ons...and the naaaawwwwzzzz (50-shot wet). Oh, and it was a six-speed...the autos run in the 16's here. I had slicks and I had to work like a manic to keep that thing connected to the pavement (FWD) and in the "lift". I did about 10-12 runs total both before mods and after. My first run was a 15.2 (bone stock) and I also had to learn how to drive it. I have heard of some GTS's breaking into the mid 13's with the new turbos... The problem is that the thing has such a high compression ratio that you have to be very very careful....it is not the most easily modified car around. One of the reasons why I got rid of it.
Now, a really fast DSM...I would hang on to one of those.

Yeah,I think I'm getting ready to miss my DSM as drag race season starts in a few weeks but my Visa will stay in my wallet more and that will help me through it.
I did drive the an automatic GTS with the wheel mounted shifting buttons and it seemed slower than the manual version of the base Celica;my friend who was test driving it for a couple days passed on it and got an '01 Jetta VR6 which was just a nicer car overall but has too soft a suspension on it.

The autos in the Supras are easier to control the power and more consistent so they are better for competitive drag racing but a skilled driver can handle the 6 speed with a little (or alot) of help from soem drag radials and even more if you switch to slicks. My friend's single turboed setup on his '97 laid down an 11.4@127mph on DOT drag radials with a light launch, with slicks and a harder launch he might have seen 10s up here at over a mile high.
Unfortunatly he only made a few passes since the track only allowed 1 run with a warning if you had no NHRA approved roll bar and run 11.99 or quicker then the second you were done for the day;he made those two runs on a handful of occasions and then went home.
He didn't want to cage it since it would have been a shame to cut up the interior plus it still was fully street worth and comfortable. (power everything,A/C,cruise,etc.)
Pretty sweet for inline 6 totaling a 183 cubic inches and laying down 637whp on a dyno on 101 unleaded. All those ponies coming from a stock block 3.0 Toyota motor, the only upgrade a stronger head gasket to hold at least 30psi.
It's too bad only 7000 turbos were imported with around 4000 being 6 speeds but the rare one is the '94 Targa version of the turbo, only about 430 were brought over.

[QUOTE=X-AWDriver]12.9 eek;I can't imagine a Runner giving my Eclipse a run but it would be cool to see a Runner smack a Vette around.

Sorry but there was something special about the first time I beat a Vette in my Eclipse (that wasn't a '75-'82 model, those things are slow) which was a '93 300HP version and it was a big deal since it only took me only a few hundred bucks to do it then I had to spend some more cash to beat the C5s.
Vipers were my next biggest thrill to beat but the current ones still had me.
