Power Steering Leak 1995 (with photo)

The other day my PS pump started making noise and I found that the fluid was low. I topped it off and the noise stopped. I then began looking for a leak.

After removing the skid plate I parked the truck - and then noticed that it appears to be leaking from one(?) of the steel lines where they are held by a retainer to the front of the frame: The lower line appears to be the low pressure return, and if that's what is leaking then the fix is cheaper and easier than if it's the upper (pressure) line.

I have not removed the retainer yet for fear of making things worse. My question is... how likely is it that the lower return hose is the culprit as opposed to the upper high pressure line? (I will degrease the area and try to get a better idea)

I'm curious what your guys' experiences have been.

Red face

Depends how you use the truck you might want to think about doing both

If the upper line has not failed it will soon .

Unless it is just the picture it looks pretty bad .

Do i remember you from the Celica Forum??

Hey wyoming. Yeah I agree !00% but $$ is an issue. So I'll do what's necessary for now. That pressure line is pricey.

No u don't remember me from the Celica forum, but I've chatted with u on here in the past. Most recently about an exhaust manifold leak on this truck. Hope things are well on your end.
