Thanks

Theoretically, yes. But like I mentioned earlier, there are two PCV "outlets." The one at the rear is responsible for most of the oil getting into the intake. So you could either concentrate on that one, or bridge the two as suggested earlier.

No, that's the TB coolant line. Don't take that one off.

Hey Fox, 914Runner is asking the right questions as I have re-read this thread several times and you don't explain yourself very well in fact your first post was a question, so I couldn't understand what you were saying. Pictures pictures pictures make a world of difference. I know, I spent 6 years as an Naval Officer Training Instructor and pictures really make a difference. The majority of us (and I put myself in this catagory) are VISUAL learners we learn by watching and doing. Not all of us are articulate enough to understand what you are thinking at the time or your thought process. Yes some with more advanced knowledge of emissions and engines would understand this thread instantly, but I too am very interested in this and for the life of me could not fully visualize this. The link to the other site was somewhat helpful but even if the theory is the same as I am sure it is, when you are not 100% positive about what one vehicle lay out translates to your own, yeah a picture or two makes a BIG difference. I too would love to see the actual set up not just a write up of what hose gets replaced by what piece hooking into this location and connecting the can to the upstream side of the rear mounted soft line via a hard threaded coupling routed past the rear second outlet ...... see what I mean? Funny thing about what I just wrote, someone will read this and say "yep, thats how it goes alright!" LOL! 914runner, dude, I'm with you! Pictures would be a GR8 help. Still trying to get used to all the shorthand here, I read TB and IM and my point of reference was "IM? what does instant messenger have to do with my 4Runner!" :pat:

I'm not so sure I understand this Mod. I really don't think there is any issue. Auto Manufacturers all vent the PCV back into the motor for pollution control.

my asking a ? has something to do with you not knowing how to understand something? uhh

advanced knowledge is harldy needed at all. just reading and looking for the parts explained.
HOW I FIGURED IT OUT: read this thread...walked outside and looked at my truck...theres the parts, this is what you do, and i was done. its simple.

so run the [hardline] (to back of intake) and the [brass TB line] to a [catch can] then another line to the same spot in the [intake]...

a teenager could understand this.

print out the text, and stand over your bay. look down and point to the parts im talking about then connect the dots.
theres 4 components and 3 connections. plus a picture of the PCV valve is shown so no you have more than enough info to do it unless you simply can comprehend anything.

Also the line on the back of the intake is near the TB, and will probably also have some oil around the fitting. This is where you draw vacuum from. so take a new piece of hose and connect it there first. then find a place to mount your catch can and mount it. run the new hose you just connected to a port on the can. run another new hose from the can to where the line you already removed connected to a hard line on top of the IM. [this whole thing i just wrote basically lengthens that line on back of intake, and puts your can in the middle of it] if you can understand that then i dont know what.

lastly locate the brass fitting on the TB and connect your final line to it, and then run it to the can.

3 connections on the can, and 3 lines coming off of it.

-good luck.

Mikey
this way still does vent it back, but it keeps your intake from sucking oil in.

df what engine do you have? I don't know what you are talking about with the brass line. I'm just running from the PCV tube to the catch can back into the intake. That's just enough for me.
