Personally I prefer KC lights. I have 2 130 watt KC's and believe me when I say it lights up the sky! If you are looking for brightness of the lights, look at candle power NOT wattage. Also if you use high wattage light prepare to watch the battery gauge drop unless you run a better alternator.

Talking kc vs hella

I have run both set of lights. I personally like the hellas that I have now because they have a wider beam. The KCs I have are pencil beam headlights and are awesome for high speed off road. Unfortunately,. I dont do that.
If you are interested I have the KCs and will sell them.
Just let me know!

Okay, so I broke down today and got some lights for the new bumper. I was near a 4WP store and stopped by to look at all their lights. They had a lot of stuff, I was actually impressed other than they don't carry LightForce.

I ended up getting a decent deal on some Hella Black Magics. They came in a pair with all the wiring, we'll see about that when I go to wire them up. It was an opened item, the set I got so I talked to the mgr. and they cut me a deal. All the stuff was there but they were on display at some point. Some of the mounting bolts were scratched up but whatever.

Anyway, they fit the bumper nicely up front but I think unless I tilt them down slightly the top of the light will be cut off by the top tube running across. They look cool, it's all about the bling!, since they're all black unless turned on. The only crappy thing is they don't come with covers so I'll have to pick some up at some point.

I also got the crappy Explorer ProComp 55 pack lights. Two rectangle lights and wiring, which I can tell already wont be enough, for reverse lighting. They don't fit the way I want them to, tucked up in my bumper instead of hanging down below so next time I'm up at Demello's shop I'll ask him to cut me up some flat bar, bend it and drill the holes so they'll fit the way I want on the tabs.

What is everyone's preference and are there any other sets that are about a hundred bucks that someone knows of?

just my $.02

i had a set of kc daylighters. they were great, nice and bright. well long story short, 1 of the lights fell off the mount, the "ball" inside the light pulled right out of the sheetmetal. i noticed it hanging by the wires and i pulled it off. i pushed on my other one and it fell off right in my hand. pulled that one off too. sent them both back to kc and they sent me 2 new ones wich i promptly sold.

went and bought 2 hella 4k euro beams and havent looked back since. the hellas have alot whiter & brighter light than the kcs.

Just wondering if anyone knows how PIAA Pro XT 80's stake up in all of this?
Especially compared to the lightforce's.

I jsut got my Hella Black Magics wired up today and wow! I can't compare them to anything else since this is my first set of auxiliary lights but it's awesome. They're a bit yello wcompared to my Sylvania Silverstars but they "crush" them when I turn them on. I can see things I never knew existed on the roads around my house while I was gettting them aimed up how I want them.

I'll post a few pictures of them and how I mounted the rocker switches tomorrow. I didn't use the crappy looking "green thing" that came wiht them. I went down to Radio Shack and got some that look "stock" and how I mounted them was my favorite thing about this.
