yeah, not a bad idea either. http://ttora.com/forum/showthread.ph...r+tacoma+doors seems that 4runner and Taco doors are not interchangeable. Hmm, Might be best to do a junkyard find, but I have a feeling, it's gonna be harder than expected to weld them up. Thanks for the info,

hey, if someone in CA wants to pick these doors up, and ship them to me via DHL(on my dime of course) I'd be the pioneer. Even if the top of the door doesnt fit, I would just hack 'em up, and make 'em work.

If you are serious about this I know I could find some here in San Diego. I actually like checking the junk yards every so often.

I havent checked junk yards around here yet, but if you want to pick those ones on the TTORA board up for me(link above) that would be awesome, I'd rather not do the real low cut myself, I can't really weld, and I can only "trick" my buddys into it, if it isnt that much work.

Well, if anyone needs half doors for a 1st gen, http://www.toyotafiberglass.com/halfdoors.htm has them. I e-mailed them about possible making a set for a 3rd gen, so I will see what they could d. Ideally I would do front and rear half doors, I really dont drive the 4runner a whole lot, I mostly use my 250 for work, so I wouldnt mind throwing them on there. If anyone else is interested in buying a set, if you e-mail them it may help me out too(show more interest)

I would have to check but my guess is about 50 bucks each with some minor dings and scratchs.

To make half doors is quite easy, just remember there's a crossbar inside the door, if you remove this, it may make your vehicle illeagal for street use.

There's a bar in the door, forced by the federal government to be installed in some types of newer vehicles, for side impact protection. Not sure if this standard is required on Jeeps....

I'd thought about just taking my doors off completely, but this is even better. Guess tomorrow I'll be calling junkyards. My only two concerns (safety is for losers) are 1. rain 2. all my ลลลล sliding out from the floorboards.
I wonder if finding some doors with manual windows then cutting out all the sheetmetal and replacing it with clear vinyl and velcro would work. I've got ventvisors, so a complete seal up top isn't necessary.

Making them doesnt appear so easy to me.
Also, I am not too concerned about the legality. Cops here are that terrible where they would pull me over for this.(Maybe if I had no doors) Also, I am not worried about the saftey issue. A Jeep with no top, and no doors like I often see looks way more dangerous to get into an accident with than a 4runner with at least half a door, and a roof. I would only run them in the summer, and since the potential for theft, I would only use them to cruise around with, it's not liek I would be daily driving with this. Thanks for the thought though, the more info the better, I have never looked at the inside of the door, so I would have ever known about the cross bar.

By the way, Chuckd, wanna make a set for me too???? If I wasnt so incompetant I'd be making one right now.

damn, if anyone wants to make me a set I would gladly pay for the doors, as well as compensate you for the time, and pay DHL shipping to NJ, I really really want a set, If I made one myself, I'd probably screw up at least 2 doors before getting one good one.

I think $50 a door is a little low. I paid $75 for each of my 2nd gen Doors. They were hollow, no window, panel or anything. The modification if really pretty simple. With the inerds out of the door, there isn't any structure pieces in there. Just a little welding and bondo and there it is.

These are the only two photos I have of them here at work. This is a primed and after painting in the garage.
