Ok, I am buying a sport 4WD 2002 4runner. I want to lift it a bit, I am thinking cornfed 1.5" spacers upfront and 2" in the back just to level out future sag and if I have a load.

My question is: what size tires can I get with different wheels?

Preferably I want to get 18" wheels, what size tires can I run with those without rubbing, I know I may have to pound some wheel well trim back with a hammer, but I dont want to do any body cutting.

What tire options do I have with 17" and 16" tires with 1.5" of lift.

Also, do any 6 x 5.5" wheel fit out cars, or what offset do we need to run?

My dad has 16 inch wheels on his 97, and that is pretty similar to yours, i think, as far as fenders go. He is running 275/70, BF Goodrich all terrains which is equivalent to a 32 inch tire, by 11 inches wide. He first put those on with stock hight, but got some rubbing when the truck would turn on small bumps. He is currently running a 2.5 inch lift with no rubbing at all, and i think that you would be fine with a 1.5 inch and a 31 or maybe even a 33 inch tire.
As for the 18 inch rims, i personally don't recomend it if you are going off road at all. 16 inches are good, becasue you are going to want as much side wall as you can get. Anyway, hope that helps.

I have 32s on the factory 16s, w/ 1.5 of lift. 32s rubbed terrible for me without the lift, now it's great. 33s might be pushing it with anything less than 1.5, at least if you hit a bump while turning.
