Either way you are either up $2,000 or you get to see the country for free.

Sounds like a killer plan to me!
I'm in Reno too, we need to meet up sometime. What yokohama's do you have, the AT plusII? I'm thinking abotu getting them in 285's and would love to see them.

Dude, must be nice to have that awesome of a ride in high school...and not have to pay to go to college? Pfftttt..!!

Well, if I had that extra cash, Id either go to Fiji or someplace in the South Pacific where you can just relax and surf....(If you surf, but, your from Denver...so prolly not), but, go somewhere cool ...

Or, say ÅÅÅÅ it and get a nice lift and new tires. ÅÅÅÅ the 20's...those aren't the best looking on 4Runners...

I would second the travel idea.

Rather than Europe though, I'd suggest traveling around the U.S. Use the money to pay for gas and just camp your way across the country, staying at KOAs and National or State Parks. Hell, with the majority of visitors to National Parks, it'll be like traveling to Europe anyway.

I spent three weeks last summer traveling a big loop from California to Tennessee to Iowa and home through Yellowstone with my girlfriend and dog.

It's worth seeing in my opinion.

Sometimes your backyard is more interesting than the rest of the world. Of course, I suppose you have to leave to fully appreciate that idea.

Meh.

However it ends up have fun.

That's what I was going to say.

Hell, if all the rest of that stuff is payed for and you still got excess cash, why not do something really crazy and give the money to someone you know who's recently out of a job and still looking? Start a scholarship fund in your grandparent's name somewhere? PayPal a fellow graduate $20 (grad school, so no happy grad checks for me)?

truckwise, I'd go for susp. improvements, and do wheels/tires later

congrats in '04

I was in the same boat as you when I was 18. My parents paid for my college (as long as I stayed single) and I had over $2k for high school graduation money. I had a job that paid for all of my hobbies.

I put the graduation money into my savings account and wanted to use it for something special. About 4 years later, I found a use for my money. I met my wife and bought her a very nice wedding ring that was pretty expensive. I was glad I had the money to spend on something that will last a long time instead of a set of wheels or something for my car. Just my opinion.

Well, it sounds like you have your mind made up but while I'm still with these guys in going on a trip, I hear you in that you want to spend it on your rig. I will again re-state that 20s are a huge waste. You seem to be into the street thing, thats fine and you seem to have a good start (S/C and a 5spd). My vote would be the urd kit. I'm not exactly sure what that entails as I don't have an S/C yet but what kind of gains do you get? Though tipical... you could ad a 50shot of nos onto that thing if you wanted. There is a girl down at school with a crazy runner and shes got EVERYTHING, including an s/c, 7th injector, and a 50 shot not to mention full custom interior, 3 JL 12"s and white more "racing" style 20s. Which brings me back to the 20s thing. Why spend money on something that will slow you down? Also and I quote, "dem 22s make dem dubs look like 10s round hur" I didn't look where you were from, but in savannah, 20s aren't that big anymore. I saw an old old pontiac with 26's one day. I swear that car had almost as much ground clearance as my truck! Anyway... my point is, opnions are like assholes, everyones got one! Do what you want to your truck. You should have expectd the responses that you got on a 4x4 forum about the 20s. My vote is for some extra GO, and not some SLOW... but I'm a speed junky, so go figure...

Good luck with that hole in your pocket...

All I can say is that if it was me...I would never put those wheels on my car. But to each their own, its your ride and your pride do what you want with your money man.

Im also thinking of a water injection kit and plamsa booster but am wondering if for that much money will it give me more power than the urd kit? Or I could have some parts of my car painted to match, get my stock rims done in gunmetal grey, get a real carbon kit for it, a plasma booster and a new sub box. hmm what to do
Well, what a lucky guy! If I were you, save those $$$ for increasing gas price on a trip. You never know who you are running into during a trip.

Congratulations upon your graduation. I've just graduated with an M.S. in E.E., yet, I don't get any penny, in search for a new job to, and manage to get out of student loan as well.

Good luck,

Don't have the AT+II. Those are the mud tires right? I went with the A/T because they are a good combo of functionality on the street and grip off road.

We should meet up sometime. ChickenLover and I talked briefly in another thread about starting up Nevada 4ROC. Three people would be a good start!

Let's get together one of these weekends. We should think of a place to go wheelin. I was doing some wheelin' up by Crystal mines a while back and it was awesome (because of all the snow still up there). It's probably all gone now though, I'm not sure how fun it would be dry. I was up by moss lake last week and that was awesome too. Any ideas?

Ooops looks like another thread hijack.

I was up around Moss Lake the other day too with my girlfriend, lots of fun up there. My friends and I used to go party and camp around there in high school.

Ok man this is from a female's view here but if you got that kinda money and arn't worried about finances get yourself a set of rims!! But don't get the 20's they are too small you need at least 22's! Hubby's uncle (I guess he would be my uncle-n-law) has 22's on his 2002 LC and it looks pretty good. I thought it kinda looked funny at first but now with the price of the truck and the cost of rims I have asked him numerous times to let me have it. He keeps telling me no... Aw well.... my only other suggestion is to NOT go to the nudy bar, get drunk, get high, or anything that can risk harm to yourself or to your truck!!

P.S. You can always start to save for you kids college tuition cuz by the time your kids are in college it will be astronomical (sp?). Justa thought!!

Above Caughlin Ranch, you can get to the trail there. There's lots of trails up there, but the lake sometimes dries out during summer, but I bet it still has some water now. Not a lake you swim in, hence the name Moss Lake (doesn't sound too appealing does it), but it looks nice.

I chose the last one. Don't really know what a "grip" of money is but you should put it toward an ejumacation.

well it looks like about half the money is gone. 2 of my biking sponsors decided to screw over our team so i had top pay for a bunch of stuff all minor parts but it addsup for 3 bikes worth, and other random stuff. im saving the half thats left, and spending the rest on getting some parts painted, windows tinted, carbon dash kit and taking the new gf out to a nice dinner.
dexter- going to bed from partying wayyyyy to hard for the past 4 weeks since school got out

in that case, if I were you I would save the cash for the races and not blow it on the runner. My wife has sponsors for her team which pay for almost everything except food and drinks but I'm not so sure she'd be doing as many races without a sponsor. those things are way over priced if you ask me, especially when they come in in the top 3 they get a max of around a 500 purse or a couple boxes of power bars and some socks. those people that put those races on really make off like bandits since most of their prizes are donated by the sponsoring companies. If I had extra money, the bike parts is what I would have spent it on too. good decision.
