Group buy on racing type seats
Hi all,
I just wanted to propose this out there in case there was a lot of interest. I'm looking at getting these seats:
and the seller quoted me $220 for pickup and just a little more (about $250) for delivery. I'm not sure if shipping is standard across the country but the guy is open for a group buy. If you're interested post here so I can get a good idea of who's interested and approx. how many people.
I haven't seen these in person but will do so at the first chance I get. Here's some more pics if you're interested:
EDIT:
He's got 100% ebay feedback - mostly off of smaller stuff but there is one from a purchase of these seats and the buyer says that they're exactly as described.
Here's a link to the Ebay auction:

i'll tell you what,
for every 4 pairs i can do 10% the entire purchase.
this way you dont have to get a huge group.

Sorry to tell you this but he won't ship to Canada because of the extra fees he'd have to pay. That and shipping.
Do you know anyone across the border that could help you out?

$220 for pickup.
Slightly more for delivery. Yup for the pair too. Once I've met with the guy and gotten a chance to get a good look I'll be able to describe them a bit better. We'll see

I am definitly interested. Like Jimabena74 asked do they bolt into a 92 pickup std cab truck? That would make them more appealing. Pick up from where? What would be the shipping cost to california? Is it 220 for a pair because that is cheap so I would be concerend about the quality? Any one heard of this brand? Any consumer feed back for these seats?

If you follow the Ebay link you'll see that the guy is in fact in CA. He'll charge $259 with shipping incl. + CA state tax. $220 is the pick up price THUS FAR. Depending on how this goes the prices may drop for us.
As far as I know these seats would fit into factory rails for 1st gens.
I asked the seller for some history on these seats so I'll post as soon as I get an answer.

Here's the latest e-mail response:
it is our own brand but we do not stamp the name or have the name on the headrest because many investors requested seats without logos.
the seats are a universal fit.
they will fit into mini coopers and miatas to suburbans and hummers.
i guess you can say our name are still small in the business but hopefully we sell enough parts over the months and years to come to make a bigger name for ourselves.

AHA!!!
Looky what I found flipping through the JCWhitney catalog:
http://www.performancestyleattitude....acingseats.htm
JCW wants $128 per seat. Factoring in shipping it's still cheaper with this guy. I'm going to try searching for some ricer forums and see if anyone's got any experience with these seats now that I have a name to go with them

Don't know if this is worth anything because they're selling them but here's CarDomain:

Ah... here we go:

Another:

After 35 pages of Google this is what I've learned.
Most people automatically throw out any suggestions MAINLY because it's APC. Others are concerned about the ricer look it gives you. The APC seats have passed federal safety regulations which nulls out some of the concerns some people have had about crash results. Most of what this has going for it is the price. There are some concerns about longevity of the fabric as well as its resilience to sun damage but it seems that the people who have actually sat in them say that they are indeed comfortable. One of the only things people know for sure are that the seats are really not "universal fit" and may need tweaking to get into the seat brackets or vice versa.
I can't say that I'm exactly for these seats but I can't say that they're completely out for me just yet.
What do you guys think?
