Glad to have switched to Toyota!
Howsit everyone,
I'm 17, and from the Big Island of Hawaii. I currently had 2 Honda's prior to purchasing this toyota yesterday. I'm damn glad i made the switch over! Dont get me wrong, Honda's are nice, but being in the civic scene was plain boring. I needed more excitement, i was tired of hearing honda's all the time burnout and be the "fast and furious" type. So i decided to get out of the scene, and look for a toyota.
Yesterday I purchased this 1999 Toyota 4runner SR5. Its automatic (i'm pretty sure i'm not gonna miss chirping gears haha) and is completely stock. Here's a picture i took off my phone as soon as i bought it.
Enjoy!
And the Civic that is now for sale. hahahah

Welcome to the club. I still like my speed but sometimes if just nice to cruise in the 4runner or hit up a trail. Just a whole different world. I still have my 2jz aristo for the fun stuff though...lol. You definitely won't regret the 'yota.

haha. the tires prolly have less than 40% life left in them so spinning them shouldnt be a problem at all.
i wish i could run two of the cars, but i'm seriously over the honda scene. i barely cruise nowdays so maybe i can handle it. haha. if anything, i was thinking about picking up a 80's tercel to cruise when i need
I've been searching the site, and asked couple of my friends about leveling kits. I was taking a look at 4wheelparts.com and toyteclifts.com, but can you guys point me a direction? a brand that you would use and a site maybe?
thanks!

i would seriously not do anything to the truck for a few weeks
think how much cash you have and what you want the truck to become..
this hobby is alot of cash and choices...
do you want a 4runner to take to the beach , mall or one that can crawl over a rock like a slug? that looks like a sweet runner
does it have the rrdiff button by the steering wheel?

no it doesnt
my brothers one does and i'm super sick to my gut that i dont. haha.
well, it'll be used DD, going to the beach to surf, and going up to the mountains to hunt. Nothing really outrageous i would say but yeah. I was looking at the 3'' leveling kit from revtek, but like you said, its all about choices. I'll sleep on this for a while and see what i decide. thanks for the advice

you look level already heee heee
I think you are lifting
welcome to the club.
If you are going to go street you could do worse than to emulate Fo Sheezy for example. If you want to go the lift and rockcrawl look then many of us aspire to that. Miller PKA and crolison are some good examples and so many more.
just a 2wd or are you 4wd? No slight intended either way. Doubt you get much snow ...

Yeah I did the same thing too. I had a crx, integra gsr, DA integra and a civic hatch and was always saving up for new parts and jdm this and that but then I bought a 4runner. Now im into offroading and mudding lol.
You should keep your EK though since it gets better gas mileage and you never know when your gonna be stuck in the middle of doing something on your 4runner and need a way to work the next day
