Good morning everyone. I bought a set of Brembo rotors yesterday and was thinking last night about what type of brake pads I should use with them when it hit me that I have no idea about brake pads! I run Kevlar’s on my motorcycles but have always just bought Car Quest blue pads for my vehicles, they are basically OEM. Last year I put a new set on the front, at $45 for the set I think they are life time pads but they are not totally worn down yet but since I’m changing my rotors I think I should change the pads as well.. I will never buy AutoZone pads again, they SUCK, but then so does 99% of the crap they sell! They give you a life time warranty with them but then they only last 15,000 miles and are shot, and the whole time they coat your wheels with black crap! Anyway what type of brake pads are the best that are not going to eat my new rotors alive or should I just stick with OEM or OEM style pads. I looked on the net and found Kevlar metallic, metallic, ceramic, organic and am more confused now than I was before! Thanks again for any and all input you all may have, Matt

If you do a search here you'll note that many recommend Toyota OEM or Autozone Performance Friction #5024. The PF pads are the TRD pads that Toyota sells. Bonus is that they have a lifetime warranty.

I have them on mine. Stops great, no dust, and no squeal. Best of Luck

I hate the brake talk, I just had the whole system in the front replaced and the rear all adjusted.

I will have to look into those, I bought the AutoZone brand pads once a few years back, they had a life time warranty but wore out at 15000 miles and were very very dusty! I then went to car quest pads that are OK..I just dont want to chew up my new rotors but if the PF pads are the way to go, I guess Ill stop in and grab a set! Thanks, Matt

I am using the TRD carbon pads I got for the same price as the Performance Friction pads from an online Toyota dealer that has since gone out of business. I can vouch for the noticeable difference in stopping power, the harder you push the faster it stops.

another vote here for PF pads. I use them with Brembo rotors and love em. no squeel, good braking, and a little dust.

I always went back to the OEM's. I get about 45K out of them. I need to change mine as well. I went with the PF this time. I figured that I'd give them a try wince everyne on here like them

I am torn between them and OEM, or just regular NAPA, the cheap ones.

I have heard to buy the cheapest pads too, as they work better than the harder TRD or the PF pads some say.

There are many epinions out there on pads.

Bendix IQ (Import Quality) been useing these pads for years with no noise and very little dust.
