PS - I also have the Dynomax Turbo "muff" and it's the best as far as I'm concerned, but Flowmaster or Magnaflow or Vortex are fine "muffs"
Corey, maybe we should add a section to the Tech section that points to your “muff” page/info? Just thinking out loud.

but what about 22RE's?
I understand that most of you are running V6's with muff mods, but what about those of us who only have the lowly 22RE?
Maybe we could get some input from those of you who have changed things up on their 4 cyl. My exhaust system is just about on it's last legs, and if I'm gonna fix it I may as well upgrade at the same time (cat, pipes, and muffler possably a header). Not like the last owner who went cheap and dirty.

Hey Fred. I have the 2.7 and it's the biggest/best 4 banger I owned. The muffler mod did seem to help power wise (seat of pants) but you could go full exhaust since you have headers available for your 22re. I put headers on my 4 banger Datsuns and Toys (20r) and it's very simple...not like the V6 nightmare installs. You should get some good results changing everything from the header back. I believe header length has some effect on low end or high end...I 'think' the short pipe headers were good for low end. Good luck.

Dynomax all the way.
I'm very pleased w/ my Dynomax/Monza combination. I am going to remove that off the 99 and put it on the 98. Hopefully its as bolt-on as they claimed it was when they fab'd it.
The sounds is a tad (and I do mean tad) bit over stock. It's got a nice mellow sound to it. Overall, if you are looking for something a bit louder than stock and are afraid of offending the neighbors, wife, girlfriend b@#$#ching, Dynomax is a good option.
