I have the Philips Blue Visions. I have no idea how they compare to the other Philips bulb that pfdaxe and others are talking about.

However, I can compare the Philips BVs to my old PIAA Hyperwhites. The biggest difference is that the Philips do about 25% better in the wet, foggy conditions. However, the stock bulbs do much better in the wet stuff. Since it doesn't rain much in sunny So Cal, the Philips do well for me here.

I bought mine from powerbulbs.com. They even threw in the corner bulbs for free. Gotta love dem Brits!

Ditto on what you just said. I'm running the supers and have been happy.

So you guys running the extreme whites or super extremes? The combo high and low beam light or the one with just the low beam, I guess?

Chris

All I know is that when I replaced my reading lights with Piaa's, they are way brighter than the Raybrig's and way whiter. They are almost too bright, but I love them. I beleive Piaa makes a good light, but I'm open to these other suggestions too.

Just thought I'd put my two cents into this and become part of the minority that defends the piaas. I have the super plasma gtx on my runner and I love them. They are not bluish and are really white with a hint of purple in them. I had doubts before I got them because of the negative things I heard about the piaa bulbs but I think these are great. Maybe I'm just biased because I just hate that yellowish light from stock bulbs. Oh and I ran the superwhites on my accord before the runner and they ran great for a year or two without problems. Ultimately tho, I'm just saving up to get me a true hid kit. In the long run, the hid seems like a great invesment. And that projector conversion mentioned in the other thread is mighty tempting too. Cept I dont think I can spare all that $$$$$$$. haha.

Osram & Sylvania are one and the same company. Within the US they use both the Osram and Sylvania name. Outside the US its Osram. The Osram Silverstar is a clear bulb with Xenon gas boost to increase brightness up to 50%. Color is similar to standard halogen though it is slightly whiter. The Sylvania Silverstar is the same bulb but with an amethyst blue coating with 30% more light than standard halogen. Basically, if you do the math, the Osram version is 20% brighter than the Sylvania.

Alright, so I am about two seconds from ordering these lights but I have no idea which model to get and what fits for the new 4th Gen 03' 4Runner (H4 possibly?). Anyone care to input? I don't have extensive knowledge about lights, but I am trying to learn so bare with me if I get some of the terminolgy incorrect . Thanks

(Thread may be old, but hey, I didn't wanna start a new one if there was already one here)

Same here...I've had PIAA Xtreme whites for some time and have never had to replace them. I originally purchased them for my 2001 Sequoia, but later removed them and installed the compatible ones in my 2003 4th Gen...same bulbs still burnin' strong. No rain or fog or snow issues to speak of.

I run all of my lights PIAA Xtreme Whites and have been very pleased. They look very white and bright.

I found the best prices for the PIAA Xtreme whites here...they offer free shipping too if you spend enough!

http://www.accessconnect.com/

The owners manual can provide you with the right bulb model for low beam, high beam and fog light applications.

Bottom line though...do NOT touch the bulb while installing. This will drastically reduce the life of the bulb. Handle it by the plastic base only.
