Donkey Knocker question.....
Last night @ 4AM I nearly hit a deer on my way home. I would really like to be able to handle a deer strike on the front with minimal damage. I don't want one of the oversized donkey knockers and it can be disposable in the event of a deer hitting it. I know there have been other Donkey Knocker threads on here but I was wondering of someone could post some links to sites with pictures, or list the manufacturers.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Ain't gonna happen unless you can manage to slow WAY down before impact. The nergy of the impact rises according to the inverse-square law, so any impact at much speed at all will release a lot of energy that has to go somewhere. Anything strong enough to absorb the energy will be big and ugly. If simply strong enough to withstand it (therefore absorbing no energy,) a guard might be made that will look okay but the energy then has to transmit to the frame. It's a lose-lose deal.

I've heard of plenty of deer being hit with an ARB Bullbar on 80 series cruisers, in fact I think one guy had hit 2 or 3 w/the same bullbar, they all held up fine IIRC. Of course speed is a big factor.
