Lightbulb 97 Limited 4wd Issues- No 4H but 4L works

Just to start out I have a 1997 4runner Limited with E locker if that matters. I 5 speed swapped it, and kept the one touch transfer case. (96-98 H-N-L push button 4wd) All factory wiring used and still running automatic ECU. I did have to cut off the transmission plug and wire two of the wires together for it to start (nuetral safety) and used some of the other wires from same plug for reverse lights and cruise control. All works with no issues there.

Now to my issue:
When moving the transfer case shifter from H to L, the 4WD ECU clicks, power and vacuum switch to blue VSV, and the TC actuator locks the front drive shaft like it should. 4 wheel drive lights up and all is well.
When pressing the 4wd button on the transfer case (4H) nothing happens, no clicking from the 4WD ECU, no switching of the vsv, and no movement of the transfer case actuator. Even if the button is pressed when in 4L, when the shifter is moved back to H position the 4wd disengages.
I have read as many threads I can find on the issue, and I can't seem to get any further on my own.

What I have done to diagnose my issue:
Tested continuity on the push button for 4wd and it is good
Tested the actuator switch for continuity and it is good
Tested the 20amp fuse in cab for 4wd with voltmeter and it is good on both sides
Jumped the harness side of the plug for the 4wd switch on transfer case (with push button on and off) in H position on transfer case and no change
4Low position switch is functioning from TC obviously giving me 4L and overriding the push button function
From what I can diagnose is that I either have a contact issue in the actuator for 4H, or my 4WD ECU isn't sending signal for 4H because it isn't getting the ground signal from the push button switch.
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

I got it fixed. I guess I was colorblind when installing the cupholder console. I got to looking at the wiring diagrams and didn't see any brown/purple wires that I had the push button hooked to. When I swapped in a 99-01 console the pink and white/black wire got moved over to the left of the steering wheel with the window switch wiring. I had the wires from the security switch hooked up to the push button. They have the same connector, but are completely different colors. Got the right wires separated from the harness so they would reach the 4wd switch and I have 4H again. Hopefully this will never happen to anyone in the future, but if so, that will be your issue.

Glad to hear it got sorted out. I was going through my pictures from when I was sorting out my M/M issues hoping to help but could never find good pics.

I appreciate it! I have been racking my brain for days. I'm just relieved it was something so simple and not a broken wire somewhere in the mix.
