96'-03' alloys fit 92' 4Runner???
Just need alittle backup for the purchase of
some Tacoma/4Runner alloy rims from 96'-03'.
When to the Toyo dealership to confirm and
as always these guys only have the families
of parts for those groups of design years,
no cross reference for offsets, etc. Does
someone have a technical manual or document
that confirms the mechanical dimensions for
offsets, etc to show the clearences for the
brake calipers, etc????
92' SR5 4Runner 4WD, 5spd
immaculate, 120K

I can tell you that I calculated the offset on my 3rd gen wheels to be 22mm based on 4 5/8 inch backspacing on a 7 inch rim. That doesn't directly answer your question but you may be able to calculate your offset and figure out if they will fit.

Victor sent email with this reponse:
Steven both wheels are 6 on 5.5 bolt pattern. I see 2nd gen trucks with 3rd gen wheels all the time and I test fitted my 2002 wheels - they fit great.
Get a friend with those wheels and mount one in the front. Turn full left and right an you'll see that they clear fine.

A 3RD GEN rim does fit on the 2ND GEN but he center cap on the two front rims will not fit because of that cap sticking out of the bearing or I don't know what it is.
I just bought some 3RD GEN factory alloy's and I installed them on my 2ND GEN and I can't get the center cap on, for the two front rims....... ANY IDEAS??

If you are talking the 6 spoke wheels then there are center caps that will clear the manual hubs since the 3rd gens were available with manual hubs. I will buy center caps for my rear wheels but I don't mind the missing center caps in the front.
I have seen ADD trucks without the manual hubs clear those wheels - I'm assuming they are using wheel spacers of some sort to get the clearance for the ADD in the 2nd gen.
