'95 4Runner, Want Keyless entry
I have a '95 4Runner. I do not know if it came with keyless entry fobs or not. I would like to add/program one for it.
What will I need to do this other than a fob for a '95 4Runner?
I know it will need programming, is that all?
It is a SR5 model, V6, 2WD, Auto.
It does have pwr locks.
Thanks for your help
Shane

Check under bottom left side of your dash, down by your fuel door and hood release handles. If there is a little switch down there then you have the TDS alarm. All you have to do is go to Toyota and buy a new remote and they can program it for you.

As far as head gaskets go, I got a recall notice on my wife's '00 Camry 3.0 V6 about it, they replaced it for free.
I asked about my 4Runner and they told me it did not cover my year ('95).
I did have a small oil leak from the head gasket and called Toy Corp and they agreed to pay 1/2 of the price (my half was around $500 I think). That was about it around the 115K mark. It now has 122K. I also had to have a new rear main seal installed at 110K.
As far as the switch, I do not remember seeing one there. It is at the dealer right now getting a new evap core installed for the A/C leak...
If I don't have the switch, what do I need?
Thanks
Shane
