Question Wa4ROC Website

When we get a website up and running will there be a feature that tells us where everyone is from? I ran into a guy from Moses lake the other day and gave him the invite to 4ROC. I want to meet the members from my side of the mountains to if they will just join 4ROC.

BBB,

Definitely- we'll have location, and picture of the guys truck. I've been meaning to ask Mark if he's had much luck with finding a web host.

Sorry, I've been a little sidetracked...

I have some info, but it's hard to sift through the crap and get down to what people are really offering. It's _way_ too easy for people to put up a shared host these days, so finding _real_ info on reliability and such is difficult.

There are some "old standards" for reliable hosting, but I don't think paying out the nose is in the charter.

In short... I'm still looking. My goal is to get a list of 3-4 people and post up the relevant info as well as pluses and minuses here and let people decide.

I should be in better shape this weekend to pull it all together.

Thanks Mark- I wouldn't have a clue about who to go with, so I definitely appreciate you doing the homework on this one. I can't believe we're already up to 25 members- I'm curious to see how many of them will be "active" though.

yeah im curious about how active some of them are going to be also just because of the few emails that i've sent out requesting rsvp's and only a few people responded. but whatever. once we get the website up we can have everybody re-sign up.

I think that is a good idea, in the acual 4ROC forum, people were asking if they could join, but not be active...my opinion on that option would be a NO!

I think the inactivity issue is due to location of the members. I for one not to mention the three other members I know of on this side of the mountains are out of range. By saying out of range I mean hundreds of miles away. Trust me I want to go on runs and attend meetings but driving two plus hours to meet up is hard. This is why I brought up the divisions point in the past. Having divisions keeps those of us on this side active. On the web site couldnt we have a members section with all members, and a section with active members. It would show the inactive members who all goes out and what their missing out on. So with Yota Jam on my mind, can we call that event a 4ROCWA run/get together? I think it is a good chance for those of us on this side to start involvement. I have a side club I have just started in hopes of meeting other Toyota owners called Central Washington Offroaders. I have currently four members with all different makes of rig. I plan on recruiting members into 4ROC that way.

yeah but we understand the whole distance thing. i for one was talking about people who live in the seattle area. and its not like we have had that many 4roc meetings. officially only one. at least you replied to my email that i sent to everybody about the meeting and asked for people to rsvp. out of the 20 people or so that we had at the time i got about 10 responses.

I was worried I would be voted out and didnt want that. I will be present in the future at one of our meetings. I really enjoy belonging to a club as such. You guys are awesome. I brag to everyone from friends that drive rigs totally unrelated to toys like Chevs to co-workers at the Medical Center where I work. I am proud as hell to brag about being a 4ROC member. I went as far as putting a link to YT/4ROC on my personal profile @ AOL. I am trying to get people involved. I get what you meant with members not being active. I took it wrong and for that I apoligize. So what about PNWYJ03? Who all is going, and can it be considered a 4ROC get together? 4ROC's only other Wenatchee member CJsRedRunner On 35s will not be attending YJ03 due to him having to cover at the Casino we both work at. He is covering so I can go! I have from what ive heard a handful of guys bringing rigs to Yota Jam from the Wenatchee Valley. I am not going over until Saturday the 2nd though.

Actually, I'm coming down on Friday with FunRunner!

We're looking to hit the Trail 101 class on Saturday, and while a start time hasn't been made official, I'm guessing that it's going to be _early_, like 8am.

Folks are kinda' waiting for Rob/Shane/Mike/Gene to make the official announcement of the main camp location and times.

Can we meet up on Saturday?

Would it be cool for me to meet up with you guys down there? My rig is pretty easy to find but if its cool what should I look for? I attached a pic of my Runner if you have not already seen it.

BBB;

In short, Dang Yeah Dood!

But, at this point, no one really knows where we're going on Saturday. Rob (WATRD) and a couple of other guys went down last weekend to scope out a camp site. But, the sites are all first-come first-served, so it's kindofa' moot point until someone actually gets there.

The only thing that's been said is that the site will be within fifteen minutes of here:

http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp...submit=Get+Map

That was stated in the registration thread which is here:

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...threadid=11112

btw, "word on the street" is that 40 rigs are showing up. They're gonna need a lot of space! Even if not everyone camps out, the party on Saturday is gonna need some room. Rob's threatened with his Margaritas, and I countered with my "Fuzzy Rum Drinks".

WooHoo, Im not much of a drinker unless I got people to drink with. Glad to hear you guys party hardy. I will bring some inkerhol to to chip in. My last count was 45 rigs. I know two of them are from Wenatchee and more to come being I may have hooked up Xtreme Motor Sports as an invite. Are you guys coming in through Selah or the back side if there even is a road up through Greenwater? I think I found a short cut when looking at a map today with not having to go into Selah. I love back roads! Its called Wenas Road and it looks to cut that part of the trip by 25%. Not sure I have more homey work to do on that gamble. I'd hate to find its not what the map says it is while enroute. Whats your CB handle aswell as other 4ROC guys? I will be BigBadBlue I guess or no no I wanna be Rusty Nail. HaHaHa! That was a good movie.
