Good luck with the swap! There is a girl here with a S/C and 75shot here in savannah. She needs slicks BAAAAAD. Her last run we all piled in and I had my legs wrapped around her NX bottle (with heater ) She also uses 20"s (atleast not chrome). Its a 02 2x4. Does pretty well other than that. Her fastest is a 9.1 in the 1/8th. As for GTs, her and my buddy's volvo were playing with one all night. One run against the runner he got a 10.2... well, i was just making small talk with a guy and a girl about cars that were on the line and I was like, yeah... that guy with the GT, he must not be able to shift or something bla bla... Then the girl goes, oh, well thats my boyfriend, then stumbles, and says fiance... OOps, I just said Oh, and walked away... but... yeah... 2jz, good choice! As for the subi engine... might be powerful, but I hate the sound of the boxer 4. Espcially compared to the Supra. Anyway... can't wait to see the final product!

Just one morething...? Was the G35 a sedan or coupe? If it was a coupe, I might cry.. If it was a sedan, then oh well... don't like them much anyway...
My hat is off to her, sounds like a SWEET ride!

The G35 is a sedan, looks cool with a body kit and 19's on it. I am hopefully selling it today to my uncle for $42K.

Oh...ya it's AWD(very rare)!

seriously though, I doubt I could watch on a work night. Besides, I would hate to see someone get hurt at an organized event on the street. Have you considered smoking him at the track?
I havn't asked him yet!
I know what you mean about getting hurt, its real easy to lose contol while going 120 MPH!

Holy crap, you make it to 120 on the street, we usu have a winner by 80, and sometimes head up to 100 but never 120. And thats in a car.

Have any pics of the G?

I believe non-trd tacoma's have the 8.4'' (open) rear and the trd (e-locker) version has the 8'' rear. That means only the trd versions are able to swap in the lsd rear from a supra. Eaton does make one for your application. This is why all e-lockers are interchangeable (locker itself not the housing).

Greetings,
I would contact Transdude about the Trans for that Supra engine. He has built or modifed transmissions for Supra's running over 600 horse and builds hi Perf transmissions for a living.

Yes, I think I maked it to about 120MPH in a race before. My speedometer show 110MPH only and the governor should kick-in at that speed, but I installed a URD speed unlimter!

I will also take a pic of my G35 this afternoon.

Wow... I've been to 120 twice. Once goofing off with a friend in my camaro racing his celica and another time in the same guys '88 RX-7 Turbo racing a random GT on the freeway.

We pull up an onramp and we're flying already, GT gets ticked, GT goes WOT past us.
My friend: "Can I go yet?"
Me: no response....
My friend: "Can I go yet?"
Me: "Hold on!"
My friend: "Can I got yet?!?!"
Me: "GO!"

And we over took that GT faster than anything I've ever seen.... It was so bad, we got pulled over by a fire marshall. He flipped his reds on so we pulled over, he says "You're lucky I have 2 dead bodies to go deal with!" and lets us off. It was very immature of us, but boy was it fun.

I helped a friend rebuild a '72 DeTomaso Pantera. They were sold by Ford Dealers years ago. Italian body...Ford 351 Cleveland engine, 6-speed manual. Mid-engine. One night a Camaro wanted to race....we left him behind...fastest I have ever been in a car a 125mph. I guess the Camaro did not see the four 2" exhaust pipes in the back.

Very cool! I've seen those before! A 351 is not something to mess with if driven right.

The Ford 351 Cleveland and 351 Winsor are by far the best motor's(if tuned right)! I am a BIG GM lover, but those motors are SWEET!
A buddy has a 92 Mustang Fox body with a 351 Winsor. I mad the mistake of racing him in my Vette, It was like racing a Ford Taurus(my Vette) aganist a Cobra(his Stang)!

I for day's!!!!

Totally agree with you there man. I'm a GM lover, but the 351(W and C) is an impressive motor.

Brings back some old memories.
Here are some pics of the Pantera's if you have never seen one. Plain raw atitude...along with an easy maintenance American Iron motor.

My friend's dad has one of those....haven't seen him drive it but man does it look sweet!

BTW NX...you're Prerunner does have the 8.4 rear, I just got a locker for mine (It's the same rear that's in the 4x4 Tacomas and T-100's)

Greetings,
I would have to disagree with the 351 twins being the premier Ford engines. Ford built 427's that were shoe horned into AC Cobras back in thr 60's that ran close to 425 horse and produced of 450 ft pound of torque from the factory.
After the Cobra racing debut and winning everything it wanted to, Ford put those engines into the Shelby Mustangs, both in 289 and 427 size. Today, those cars bring tremendous amount of money but you can still get an engine if you wanted.

Just my 2 cents.

Greetings,
I forgot to mention that the street verision of the Cobra only weighed in at 2200 pounds, want to talk about power to weight ratio. The competition motor put out 490 horse and the car was a few pounds lighter. Nothing like good old american V-8 to put your head back in the head rest.

In high school I had an old Olds 88 with a 455 in it. It was ugly but fast.

I do agree with you on the 427's....sweet engine.

A buddy of mine used to have a 427 cobra...

he used to tell a story about how he used to tape a $100 bill to the windshield and said... if you can grab it before I hit 100 its yours... apparently nobody ever got it. But you never could tell with ol' carter...

Anyway, I can't wait for more info as this applies to all 3rd Gen. 4Runners as well!
You don't know enough about turbo lag, and torque curves to make that call. A stock cobra will NOT!!!! Smoke a stock supra.

Even though I dislike Vipers, and like supra, I have to say that the 2JZGTE is not more powerful than the viper engine.

If you turbocharge or supercharge a viper, the viper will beat a heavily modded 2JZ. Question is, how many people mod thier Viper? Not many!

But yes, that is a nicely modded skyline.
