You'd have to have a crap load of weight in the back, and some sticky tires in order to just not spin.

When I race I use my bed extender(with the tail gate up) and fill it up with sand bags! :pat:
I use street slick with my stock rims to grip the road better, looks funny but it works!

That's awesome!

Do you still spin one tire on hard starts?

I know you are not FLAMING, just saying what on your mind! It's COOL!
I wasn't trying to flame at all, good call. I was just making a general point about STOCK vehicles. I never thought you would just drop a 2JZ in and be done with it. That wouldn't be your style now would it?!

Sounds good.

Have you thought of putting on a bed cover and permanently adding some weight back there? Storage boxes, tools, recovery gear, etc?

No hard feelings!

Ya! To just drop the motor with NO extra's....wouldn't be so hot(cool but not fast enough)!

I am going to add ALOT of extra's......upgrade turbo/blow off valve/upgrad trans/all the externals/piggy back PC.....all the goodie!!!

I feel my wallet burning a hole as we speak!

since its a street truck, id recommend get a limited slip for the rear end so you dont just spin one tire. I dont think a full locker would serve much purpose over a LSD

I think your Right!
I was looking at the pro & con of a full locker last night. I think I will stick with limited slip and will get 4.10 gears.

I've heard of people using the LSD out of a supra..... might just be the gears, lsd and carrier that they used or the whole rear axle. I'm not sure, but searching should make it all clear.

supras have the same 8in carrier, just independant suspension. Its my understanding you can take the differential out and bolt it straight in, unless his truck has the 8.4in rear end? ? ?

Don't know. I figured a prerunner would come with an 8" - but I have no idea what is actually there.

I would bet $100 and a John Kerry shirt that you have a 4.10 rear.

You better let me know when you go to the track next time. I want to go.

You sure you want to drop $12K on a motor? Yikes!

I posted this in another thread, thought it was more fitting here...

Savannah Dragway Video- Its BIG, Divix

Good luck with the swap! There is a girl here with a S/C and 75shot here in savannah. She needs slicks BAAAAAD. Her last run we all piled in and I had my legs wrapped around her NX bottle (with heater ) She also uses 20"s (atleast not chrome). Its a 02 2x4. Does pretty well other than that. Her fastest is a 9.1 in the 1/8th. As for GTs, her and my buddy's volvo were playing with one all night. One run against the runner he got a 10.2... well, i was just making small talk with a guy and a girl about cars that were on the line and I was like, yeah... that guy with the GT, he must not be able to shift or something bla bla... Then the girl goes, oh, well thats my boyfriend, then stumbles, and says fiance... OOps, I just said Oh, and walked away... but... yeah... 2jz, good choice! As for the subi engine... might be powerful, but I hate the sound of the boxer 4. Espcially compared to the Supra. Anyway... can't wait to see the final product!

Just one morething...? Was the G35 a sedan or coupe? If it was a coupe, I might cry.. If it was a sedan, then oh well... don't like them much anyway...

Tonight (after I wear my *I Love Kerry* shirt to the Bush speech) I am going to race a buddy in his Civic! You can come take a look if you like(Deer Valley & 7th st-Deer Vally &7th Ave)?

How hard is it to open my rear end?

NOTE: When my truck is all done I think I am going to spend about $20-25K!

Shoot, that's about 7 miles from my house. Not sure what time we will be getting home from beating Kerry supporters- I mean going to the Bush rally

seriously though, I doubt I could watch on a work night. Besides, I would hate to see someone get hurt at an organized event on the street. Have you considered smoking him at the track?
