It's an automatic on top of all this too.

Is there anything I can do to get anymore performance outta this boat anchor??

Come on ya'll, there's gotta be some cheap tricks we can come up with. This thing is depressing.

Jim Dandy JAY to the rescue.

Besides being in a good state of tune and not willing to over spend for headers ect.

Mods to date are:

2.25" cat back exhust

90 AMP alternator

Advanced the timming 12 degrees

K&N drop in filter

Electric fan...............Good mod too.

There's gotta be something(s) we are over looking.

Or did our Japanese engineers just put out a sled.

I know it's not going to win any races but, I've gotta get out on the interstate without being run over too.

Nope, nothing you can do.

When I went over to japan I figured out why the japanese build their vehicles so underpowered. They don't drive fast enough, they don't tow anything and they don't have hills. They're just now waking up to the fact that americans want power. :pat:

I have a couple memories of troubleshooting a few 3.0L's with headers hunting down the cause of the check engine light being on. The code would be for EGR System Insuffient Flow. The problem was isolated to be seemingly caused by less pressure being acted upon the bottom of the EGR modulator. Assumed to be due to less backpressure in the high flowing exhaust system.

Thinking back now, I would have to guess that these vehicles must have been california emission vehicles due to the fact they had EGR temp sensors. Which is the only way to input the flow data to the ECU. To my recolection, Federal and Canada vehicles didnt have this component.

So I would have to say on assumption at this point, that if your vehicle has Federal Emssion standards, that a increase in power could be obtained by installing headers without the agrivation of having a perminent check engine light on.

 Headers are just too much $$ for the return.

I fear I'm just stuck untill I get new transportation.

How depressing this is.

I just got the 3.0 slow blues.

Welcome to the club lol

Just be content in knowing it'll last forever and you don't need power to off road, hint hint.
