Question 00-02 4runner heated mirror retrofited to a 01-04 Tacoma?

I searched for info on this topic but found mostly 4Runners trying to upgrade to this mirror. I know that 00-02 4runner mirrors are similar if not identical to the 01-04 Tacoma's. My question is has anyone retrofited the 4runner mirrors to thier Tacoma? Also what controls the amount of time the defrost is activated?, is it the switch it's self, or is there another timeing device connected to the switch or mirror?

It works with the rear window defroster, that's all I know.

In fact, I owned the truck for 4 years before I knew it was even there...lol.

I'll resurrect this post to see if anybody has found an aftermarket place to pick some up or if there is a fit...
