I will get some more pics of the fj80 up soon. Progress on that has been slow. Just been doing regular maintenance on it to make it reliable for everyday use. Chasing a few demons etc. No I don't have a build thread for it. I do like the 80, just needs bigger tires, paint, better radio, bumpers....... and the list goes on

This weekend I did some work on my truck. During braking I was noticing some serious shaking in the front end. it was really bad and got worse as the brakes heated up. Well I couldn't ignore it any longer and I just got paid sooooooo...... on to the pics......
I had to do to the work in the driveway since my uncle's Durango is still in the garage. I got my jack and put it the air...
I was pretty sure my passenger side rotor was warped.... turns out I was right
While I was under the truck I did some snooping around and found out I have 2 torn cv boots. That will need to be addressed soon...
But at the end of the day I did a much needed oil change, new brake pads and a rotor, and I finally got my selectable hubs on!!!!

Thanks guys! i picked the 80 up for 2200 bucks back in feburaury. it has been having a periodic hot start issue so it has been sitting while i chase it down. i think i almost have it figured out. i believe its a vapor lock situation so im about to replace the charcoal canister and a few other bits and pieces. i drove all last weekend and it was great. i love that thing..... and more importantly so does my wife! as for the hubs...... you can in the second picture of my last post the auto hubs that were on the truck. they are quite simply a plate that lock the cv shafts in so that they always spin. the manual hubs were extremely easy to bolt on. Bolt the back plate on.... move the selector to the free position and bolt it on... easy peesy lemon squeezey as my kids would say.... lol there are several good write up on the hub swap on yotatech. in the few days that have driven the truck since the swap i have noticed less vibration in general while driving. its a must do swap!

Im hoping for a little longer cv shaft life and a little better gas mileage with the hub swap. i know it wont be a huge jump in gas mileage but at 4.25 a gallon every little bit helps! my last tank i got 16.5 mpg. im curious what this tank will be

Happy Independence Day everyone. And a big thank you to all of the service men and women who have fought for this country. Sorry I have not updated this thread in awhile. I have been putting some massive hours in on the FJ 80 getting it ready for 2 long trips in the next week and half. First we are leaving for Indianapolis area for a family reunion for a few days. Then My wife is taking the kids and her mom to Pennsylvania to see her sister. That is the trip I am worried about because I wont be there to help fix something if it goes wrong.
With in the last 2 weeks I have changed the vapor canister, cleaned the throttle body, cleaned the air idle control valve, cleaned the afm, set the valve lash, set the timing (PITA!), changed the battery, tightened all the belts and finally figured out why I still had a code 21 even after I changed the o2 sensor. My FJ80 had 1 o2 sensor in the exhaust but required 2. After some digging I found the other o2 plug tucked up in the fender well. So I got another o2 sensor for 58 bucks and took it all to the exhaust shop and asked them to drill a hole and weld in a new bung. they charged 40 bucks to do that. So the CEL is finally gone. That should help with MPGs and reliability.
Have safe 4th of July! I will post some pictures later of a wheeling trip I took last weekend. small stuff but fun

It was fun, It was raining all day so it wet and muddy. I didn't do as much wheeling because I still haven't fixed my torn cv boots. and I didn't want to get to much water in there. All in all it was a good time, we cooked hotdogs under the canopy on the back of a friends FZJ80. Nice relaxing time.... and some fun as well

I still have the heads and intake to do but have nit started on them yet. my free time has been spent getting the 80 ready and reliable for travel as well as fixing other cars to sell. along with 50 plus hour work weeks leaves very little time for family let alone porting the heads. it will get done, sometime. along with my offroad trailer, and bumpers and and and..... lol thanks for the compliments..

Slick rig for $900! Stumbled across this thread based on your 4" kicker speakers install.. I just started my stereo build today... Thinking about doing a buildup as I'm spending way too much on car audio stuff not to show it off! ;D Keep up the good work!

Well the cruiser is finally starting to pay off. It left my house at 4:30 am with my wife, 3 kids and mother in law for a 10 hour journey to Eastern Pennsylvania. It made it successfully, and all passengers were happy and enjoying their space in the Cruiser instead of the back of Honda civic that we took last time we made this trip. I installed the power invertor from my truck into the Cruiser so they can play the computer or charge their kindle's etc etc etc... all in all I am loving that Cruiser more and more
