In the next couple dayz im gunna start a re-build on my 87 4runner, already has a 4inch pro comp suspenchion lift but its just not slammin enof. Im gunna start by guttin er inside and out, fair amount of dents and some body damage. ill skip the jib jab Id like to install a new trail gear 5inch ifs convershion kit, matching 5 inch rear lift but during the process remove the body clear off the frame (leaving the motor on the frame to be worked on) I dont know ANYTHING about removing the body!!. Anyone got any advice, hints, do's or dont's, or general helpful info. Thanks yall

lot of hard work
What motor do you have? Why do you want to leav the motor in the truck and take off the body? The biggest problem your gonna hit is all the wiring. Unless your gonna do a complete re-wire I'd leave the body on and only take off what your gonna replace. If you need new front clip and hood you can chop out the old stuf and put in new fiberglass from several dif companies. Besides you may have to pull the motor out to do some work you're planning, so skip the expense of trying to get a full car lift to support the body why you roll out the frame and motor and just get a easy cherry picker to pull your motor.

Motor- 4cyl fuel injected no mods, redone head gasket (needs a re re do...)
I would enjoy leaving the motor on the frame so i can clean and paint the frame as well have easy access to the head gasket and other motor components for cleaning.
All tho most wiring works some does not ( rear window, head lights, rear de-fog). I don't know what your referring to by "If you need new front clip and hood you can chop out the old stuff and put in new fiberglass from several dif companies" If you mean the body damage i mentioned, it is in the rear fender and its totally cut out due to stump collision and needs a wheel well and fender replacement.
I was planning to just lift the cab clear off the frame with my a excavator, I do appreciate any tips you have to save me some stress, time, and $$$$$
