I highly doubt I can piece together a kit for less than their kit though...

I tried to get some work today and proceeded to screw a bunch of things up.
Got a new driveshaft, extremely unbalanced. Gotta get that fixed now. I may just rebuild the DS that I had before.
Got some mounts for my hi-lift, messed around with some mounting locations, then realized my hi-lift is missing a bolt.
Had some noise coming from under the hood. Went to check that out, and what do you know, the bolt that goes through the bottom of the alternator is MISSING!
Set my parking brake to work on the driveshaft, went to release it when I was done and...drum roll please...it's jammed in the on position... YAY!
So, I now have a list of things to accomplish this week. Alternator bolt, hi-lift, parking brake and driveshaft...

Yeah they are 33's.
Right now I have the driveshaft in the shop getting lengthened and retubed. I have the bearing that needs to be replaced. I should have the truck up and running again this week.

ok time for an update. It's leaking from the tcase and the front diff. I haven't had time to fix it, so it moved to storage for the winter.
I have been debating between selling and rebuilding. Engine is strong, trans is good, tcase needs to be fixed, but is otherwise good.
If I rebuild it, I am thinking about going with stock spring and downgrading to 31" tires and getting new diffs with detroit lockers in both. This will take a lot of time and money, but then it will fit the bill better. Somebody talk me out of completely redoing this 4runner and just keeping on the path I am on.

This is from my last trip when I screwed up the tcase and front diff...
I am having some problems with overheating on the trails, so I have to troubleshoot that...

If you sell it, or change it to smaller tires you will be sorry. Been there done that and bought an 85 extra cab 4x4 again because I missed it so much. You will too. Once you own one nothing else will ever come close.
